My screen went white...

your screen has broken and LCD also has broken that's why your half screen is working and half is black. you have to change your screen and then use your phone again like before

my lg's camera started to turn my phone off, i do tech work for a wireless company and when i was trouble shooting my own phone as a test i went to my camera and my screen went blank! i tryed every thing, but the master reset. because my screen is blank i need to know the number i will have to enter to get it reset from the key pad.

I got the white screen and then the flashing black verizon screen. The tech help person on the phone told me to check for moisture damage. Take off the battery. Look for two dots. One on the battery and one above the metal connecting prongs on the back of the phone. They are paper stickers. If there is no damage--the dots will be perfectly white with small purple/red x's on it. If there is damage--the dots will be a solid color(purple/red) or a faded pink color(that's what mine looked like). The tech suggested I let my phone sit in a sealed container overnight with dry rice to draw the moisture from the circuitry(I'm trying that tonight). If that doesn't work(or you don't have a moisture problem), I read that you can try to have the firmware reinstalled at a store. She said it would take 40 minutes for them to do and it is FREE and that could do the trick. The sales clerk at he store FAILED to tell me about the option of reinstalling the firmware. NOT HAPPY with him! I found that out on the web. Poor customer service. He just wanted me to buy a new phone, but like everyone, I have irreplaceable numbers trapped in there! and I LOVE MY LG vx8500!! Good Luck!

Chocolates are garbage. Call your cell phone provider. They will hook you up with a new phone!

mine did this a few weeks ago. there's no solution; you need a new phone. if you talk to verizon they'll send you a new one for free; they sent me the new chocolate !! if they wanna make you pay the fifty dollars; tell them to google "lg chocolate white screen"...it worked for me :D

Note: On the inside of your battery housing there are two color sensors. They look like red and white stickers, however they detect moisture. If they are totally red your hosed and Verizon will not preform any work on the phone. There is one on the battery and one on the phone battery housing. Be careful not to get them wet. If they are not red totally. Contact Verizon or your warranty company to get the phone replaced. Or use the new every two to upgrade and get a phone that is not named aptly after your favorite snack. I love chocolate but the phone sucks I own one and if you hold real chocolate to your ear you ... well you can figure out the rest. By the way one of my tech head friends told me not to get this phone but I did not listen. And boy am I sorry.

I used to have the same phone. Now I went to the brand new chocolate. What happened with mine was that I dropped it to many times ... = /. They also said it could have to many things on it.

Blank screens were a common problem. LG found a new manufacturer for their screens and it's no longer the case.

Go to your verizon corp store and see about replacements .. If they have a UME36 transfer machine then they MAY be able to save your pix and videos
