Maestro 3-way stopped working

I have a Lutron Maestro 3-way Duo Dimmer. I had it installed for a few years at with no problems, but now it stopped. The lights on the side do not light up. I've messed with the on/off sliders to insure that wasn't the problem. Any ideas? Can it be a loose connection or a dead switch? Those are not cheap ($55 for the 2). Thank you!!

I originally posted this under Leviton and couldn't remove. Sorry about that. I posted prior to finding this post.

Hello. There could be a couple of possibilities. First is the simplest to verify, is it a Companion Dimmer, Standard Dimmer switches or a 600W or 1000W Maestro Wireless Multi-location Dimmer. The Maestro Companion Dimmers can not be used individually, as they do not control a load, and must be used along with a Maestro or Maestro Wireless Multi-location Dimmer. The Campanion Dimmers are also a line/low voltage rating, and rated for incandescent and halogen but may not handle some flourescent fixtures. The other thing I can think of is that you may have interfearence from another item. They are radio frequency (RF) devices that communicate together for wireless control of lights. Here's two links that may be of some help, the second has downloadable install instructions.

The LED indicators on my Lutron Maestro continuously run up and down without stopping and the lights (or fan) will not work? It seems as if the entire switch is frozen... Whats the problem?

1) If this installation was working before, the Maestro has a small pull-out circuit breaker that lets you reset the device. This is called the FASS Front Accessible Service Switch, located at bottom of dimmer where it meets cover plate.
Open sample Lutron Maestro dimmer manual to see FASS illustration

2) If this is new installation, then double-check your wiring and check that load matches dimmer capacity: 600 watt incandescent or halogen, which apparently excludes CFLs.
Some electronic devices have shortened lifespan on circuits that are not clean. Use circuit analyzer on nearby outlet that is on same breaker to see if line has interference.

I have a Meastro dimmer MAW-600 W that is installed, but the light does not turn on and the LED keeps blinking. Any idea what the problem can be?

3) I don't see MAW-600 W listed among Maestro dimmers, so I don't have that specific manual.

4) Amazon certainly shows the MAW-600 W, in case you need a replacement.

You posted under MIR600 single pole digital fade dimmer for incandescent and halogen.
Installation manual:
http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/030864b.pdf
If this is not your dimmer, then add a comment with exact model number so I can read that manual and look for trouble spots.

The manual does not say 'Fan'
It appears this dimmer is for incandescent and Halogen lights.

Lutron Maestro dimmer rocker stopped working

Because the switches are relatively inexpensive, there aren't kits to repair them when they fail mechanically. Your best bet is to get an exact replacement from a Home Depot or such, turn off the breaker switch, and rewire it exactly as it was, using wire nuts and tape.

3-way dimmer dead

It could be a loose connection, and it could be a loose connection on the OTHER 3-way switch across the room. Also, verify that the dimmer is rated for the fixture(s): add together the wattage of each individual light bulb that the dimmer controls and make sure that the dimmer has a higher wattage rating. If it isn't, you might have burned up your dimmer (and risked an electrical fire). Hope this helps!

I have just installed the Lutron Maestro® 600 Watt Single Pole Dimmer, White in my master bedroom. The outlet is connected to a ceiling fan. Every time I turn the fan off with the light on, the light will...

YOu need to make sure that the maestro you installed is designed for use with electric motors. CHeck out this page on the lutron site... http://www.lutron.com/CMS400/page.aspx?id=16955&mn=1797. THese are the dimmers you can use with a fan. If it is in the same box the magnetic interference can cause the types of reactions you are mentioning.

If this is not the problem you need more info-- is the light part of the fan, is there a separate wire for fan motor and light? what type of switch is controlling the light (assuming the maestro dimmer is controlling the fan motor etc...
