I’ve got Brand new Sharp TV and there’s this menu at the bottom of the screen. It’s taking up so much screen space. How do I get rid of it?

Take it back for exchange, refund or repair if brand new.

if it was a new tv you can ask the supplier for check up it was covered with warranty.

I'm assuming you have a high definition cable box connected to this television with an hdmi cable a motorola perhaps. If that is correct then with you motorola cable box power turned off press the menu button on it. Yes I just stated that you turn off your motorola cable box and then press the menu button on it. A hidden menu will pop up on your television screen. Yes the television should be turned on but the motorola box should be turned off when you press the menu button. I am sorry for reiterating that so many times but there have been numerous persons that have been more concerned about why this works in this way than just getting it to solve their problem. So you navigate down to the color space setting. You will be able to navigate left or right to choose a different setting under color space. You will see maybe RGB of YCbCr 4:4:4. Choose the one that your cable box is NOT set to currently and the green line should go away.

Yes, don't buy SHARP, problem solved! SHARP is the worst brand of LCD TV. I had to bring my brand new SHARP TV in for repair within 8 months of buying it brand new, and of course it was no longer under the 90 day labor warranty. Also, every person I know who has a SHARP TV has issues with volume and eventually end up with a black vertical line along the side of the screen within 1 to 2 years. I highly reccomend SONY, PANASONIC, even SAMSUNG, LG or VIZIO. Heck, I'd go with Toshiba or Phillips before I'd ever buy anything SHARP again I was so annoyed with their customer service.

try ebay with the model number; I had the same thing with a sharp set I own---only way to access the menu and do things is with an original remote--if this was helpful please vote for me.

It should work. You may want to try DVD player or play a VCR tape to be sure that it is the TV. If it is the TV and it is brand new from a retailer, I would take it back for a exchange.
If they will not exchange it, get in touch with Sharp and find a local Servicer that will repair it
under warrenty.

You will need to find the close caption feature in the menu adjustments and turn it OFF. You should do it for all the individual channels that have it activated.
