There should be a property in your settings menu that should be something along the lines of "Display" and then you should find Backlight somewhere, turn the Backlight to a setting such as 10 seconds, this means it will shut off after 10 seconds of no use. If that does not fix the problem then the lights your Backlight used are most likely dead and you should take it into your service provider such as Sprint, Altel, U.S. Cellular, etc, and have them send it to the manufacturer to get it fixed.
