Cant get my VW Golf Cd Player out of Safe mode. PLEASE HELP!

same problem i just answered,call a local vw dealership and ask them for a factory reset code,they will need to know your year and make.

If you don't have the radio card with the code, then you would have to go to the dealer to reset safe code. I hope this helps!

The radio is in Lock-Out mode. You only get two attempts to enter the code, then it enters Lock-Out mode.
Put the key in ignition and turn on the radio for an hour (maybe a bit more). The radio should reset itself after about an hour and then you can re enter the code.

If its a vw factory radio,all u need is the serial no.found on the radio casing,eg.VWZ4Z3G...... and any vw dealership should supply you with the code.If the radio remains on safe mode,leave the ignition and radio on for 1 hr until you see the no 1000.Enter the code.

Without knowing the model of radio fitted to your car I would make the following assumptions

The CD Player is Locked Out:

Because the battery has been disconnected and the clearing sequence in your handbook was not followed correctly you may have to wait several hours between attempts to unlock it and you will need the original code at hand as a fail safe

Or

The CD player is from another VW car and the on-board code in the memory does not match that one.

Resume:

You need to look out the little book that came with the car and read up on clearing the code for that particular model.

Last resort is a VW Dealer who should provide assistance free of charge , according to the handbook

your main vw dealer will give you the code or a good car radio shop will be able to recode it

"2 safe" means that your radio was in safe mode, and then the code was improperly entered 2 times. you either need to disconnect your battery and leave it for up to 4 hours (i've been told), or leave your key in the ignition for around an hour.

once it comes out of "2 safe" mode, then it will just say SAFE and give you the numbers 1-0-0-0. You just need to enter the 4 digit code (using your pre-set numbers 1-2-3-4 to change the numbers), then hold the seek > button and your radio should come on.

If you don't have the code, call VW. they'll find your code for free. they did for me. if not they'll charge like $50 or something.

remove radio and fit a decent one. use the money vw would charge to recode it to buy a cd player with warranty. buy/borrow the two keys to remove the gamma
