Try changing the batteries in the mouse and then press the little sync button of both the mouse and the wireless receiver.

The keyboard is also paired with a wireless mouse. They both use the same USB wireless receiver. If the wireless mouse you are using is not from the set then no, you can not use the same receiver for both.

My cordless HP keyboard Media Controls and quick launch buttons such as: Search, Internet, Info and E-Mail do not funcion. Need set-up instructions or troubleshooting info. Please advise.

You didn't specify the type of computer.  If you go to HP's support page for your computer there should be a download for the keyboard software.  You will need to install that for the extra buttons to work.

Wireless mouse will not work

Sure you can use the computer w/o a mouse. You can use the Alt key, Tab key, arrow keys, and the Enter key to move and make selections.

About the cordless mouse...I assume you have good batteries installed and in the proper position? Is this a new mouse? If you think it is bad, return it.

You can always buy a cheap USB mouse to get you going. Even though you can use a keyboard to navigate, it gets a little tedious after awhile.

Check the batteries first to ensure they are good. Do you have a receiver and is it plugged into the USB port?
You probably already know how to reset/connect the Keyboard and Mouse.
But here is info to help if you are not sure how to do it.

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
