To remove the carb, first undo the 2 bolts on the front of the panel to expose the air filter area. Then undo the 2 nuts either side of the carb air hole. This will help you remove the rest of the control panel, reveiling the carb.

your carb. is gummed up. Get some carbeurator cleaner spray and spray it into the air intake as it is running until it clears up. if it wont clear up, you will have to have the carb rebuilt.

How do i remove the carborator ttr250

Disconnect fuel line from the tank, careful not to tear it. Their will be a rubber boot on each end, (to the cylinder and to the air box) loosen the clamp around these. The cables to the throttle need to be removed at the carburator end or the hand throttle end. You may need to remove the seat and gas tank for this to make it easier. The vent lines can stay with the carb, just note where they go! The carb should slide out from between the rubber boots. Just take care with it.

Lawnmower wont start

your carbeurator is gummed up. a common problem after the lack of use in the winter season. Since you havve a new plug you are partway home. Empty out any old fuel and put in new fuel which you buy now at the gas station. Then buy a can of carbeurator cleaner. Remove the air filter. Look and see if it is dirty, if it is replace it also. Spray two short ssquirts of carbeurator cleaner into the air intake opening exposed while the air filter is removed.

Pull the cord and try to start the engine. Even if it won't start you will be drawing the cleaner into the carb. so it can start to dissolve the problem gummy deposits. Wait half hour and repeat the spray and the attempt to start. If this fails after four attempts you will probably have to remove the carb. and soak it in carb. cleaner for three hours to dissolve the gum.

My Mower won't start for more than 8 sec. I changed the spark plug, gas, oil, etc. I cleaned it inside and out including the carb. left in rain for 5 min accedentaly, cleaned, na da. Help. Thanks Craftsman...

the problem is that your carbeurator is gummed from from sitting idle all winter with gas in it. Get an aerosol can of carbeurator cleaner, remove the air filter and give the air intake two squirts of carb. cleaner. Then start the mower. When it stalls again let it sit for an hour while the carbeurator cleaner works at dissolving some of that gum. Repeat the process until the mower runs again. Sometimes there is so much junk in the carb. that you have to remove it and soak it in cleaner for about three hours, and then rebuild the carb. with the proper little kit. hopefully you won't have to take this step.

Next fall let the mower run out of gas and stall then you won't have the gum in the carbeurator in the spring.

Trimmer will not start.

Yes. Your carbeurator is gummed up. Get some new gasoiline and add some carbeurator cleaner to it, usually one ounce per gallon. Dump the fuel u have in there and put in the new fuel.

Also, get some spray carb. cleaner, remove the air filter and put a couple of squirts into the air intake chamber. Then start it.

Finally if it still won't start, use a squirt of starter fluid to get things going and get the carbeurator cleaning into the system.

Very hard to start

Your carbeurator is gummed up, a very common problem after a winter of sitting idle. Go to any auto parts store and buy a bottle of carbeurator cleaner which is added to your gasoline, usually one ounce per gallon. Also buy an aerosol can of carbeurator cleaner which you spray directly into the air intake by temporarily removing the air filter.

If you havn't replaced the spark plug and the air filter in a while do those things also, and use freshly purchased gas, not gas that has been sitting around for months.

Its starts but will cut off

The problem you are having is due to dirt and gunk in the carbeurator. Spray a carbeurator cleaner into the air chamber [remove the air filter] and run it a couple of times then let it sit for two hours while the carbeurator cleaner does its job of dissolving any debris. Then start it up. IF this does it, great, if not repeat the cleaning technique.

If all of this doesn't do it, then the carbeurator will have to be removed and either replaced or rebuilt.
