I restored my iBook G4 using Terminal with instructions I found online. My laptop was running slowly and kept freezing. Prior to restoring it I installed Onxy to try to repair it. My pointer/cursor had been jumping to different areas when I typed as well as the freezing & slow performance issue. How do I repair my iBook?

The pointer jumping on the screen sounds like you may have picked up a virus. While rare, there are mac viruses. I would try to save all my data documents and any other valuable personal files or lists, then do a clean reinstall of the operating system. Then load our documents back in.
You could try to scan for a virus with a mac virus program, but not many are available for a G4 Power PC (PPC) machine.

SOURCE: ibook g4 freezes and airport problem

have you gone into airport utility?
are you using an airport extreme? if so, reset it.
then delete the current wireless network, and try setting up a new one in airport utility.

SOURCE: My iBook G4 continues to run slowly and/or freeze

Try resetting the PRAM by turning on the iBook then holding option + command + P + R and wait till u hear another chime. If it still freezes, it may indicate an application may be causing it to lock up hold shift after you hear the chime to boot OS X into safe boot.

SOURCE: will not connect to internet via airport

Start from scratch. Go back to your main computer and create a USB key and try that way.

Wondering, is your MAc setup for wireless?

Another thought, i had the same issue connecting my Mac to my parents wireless. I used the installation disc and that solved that.

SOURCE: Restore CD

You don't need a "restore" cd.

You can just use any copy of Tiger.

Reset_To_Factory_Setting on mac ibook g4

Justin I suppose the easiest way to do this would be to insert your system disk into your ibook boot it up holding down the c key on your keyboard and then instal a fresh system. Use the erase and instal option as this will erase your hard drive. Any other queries get back to me, hope this helps. By the way a step by step way of doing this can be found at http://macs.about.com/od/leopard105/ss/installleopard.htm although it's leopard it should be similar across system.

Won't connect to internet via wifi anymore

When the power gets low, it will do silly things like turn off wireless to save battery. Prolly you just have to turn it back on. Click the airport symbol in the upper right hand area of your screen. Looks like a triangle made out of curved lines. A menu will drop down and one of the options will be "Turn Airport on". Click that.

Problem with wireless connection. Our router is hooked up to the pc in the living room but having trouble connecting my iBook G4 to the router using the wireless Airport in my Mac.It always connects to...

Sounds like you need to enter the ISP's DNS server number into the airport settings.
Maybe you do not have it set to acquire addresses automatically? Auto is usually painless.
You should be able to find it in the router settings.
Just write down the DNS number and put it into Airport.
Also check that you have the Gateway set correctly, it could be the IP address of the router or the modem, depends on your configuration.

Ibook g3

First of all, you need an Airport card for the iBook G3, chech for example this link; http://popular.ebay.com/ns/Computers-Networking/Original-Airport-Card.html (you should buy one like this: 9deeeda.jpg

, there is a G4 card too, but your iBook doesn't support this one).
Next, install it;

Then, buy a wireless router that uses 802.11b/g or 802.11b. This is very important because your airport card doesn't support 802.11g, and install it, but don't protect your network with a WAP password, your iBook doesn't support this, but use WEP.
Then start your iBook, and click on the Airport icon in the right corner, select your network, type in the password and it will work!
