SOURCE: Panasonic AG-1980

most likely problem is a dirty or defective mode switch. this switch tells the internal computer what position the mechanism is in. if the switch is bad, the computer is "confused."

SOURCE: Panasonic 7350 VCR Keep ejecting tapes just seconds after loading

This happens when he strings are worn out or broken. It will not hurt to replace the strings of the VCR after some while.

Colour Noise and Dim Display

Did you try cleaning the tape head of the player?

For some reason be sure all the gear or any mechanical inside the player is freely rotating.

Adjust the VCR tracking to get a good picture.

Panasonic AG-1980 display

If the display fades out, the problem is solved virtually every time by replacing a few electrolyctics on the display board, specifically C1,24,26,28 and 29.

I will push the eject button , i will hear several clicking sounds and the panasonic will turn off and the tape will not eject.

There's only one way to tell what's wrong with and that's to take the top off and look inside. There are lots of things that can go wrong with the mechanism, such as plastic parts broken and tape entanglement. But looking inside is the only way to tell what's gone wrong. You can then give us a fixya more info so we can help you get it working again.

The main light on the front panel went out on my 1980 desk editior. how much to repair?

The display on the AG-1980 goes dim mostly from old age - replacement of the display usually cures the problem, though you may need to replace some or all capacitors in the power supply.

Panasonic AG-1980 Wont load cassette

probably caused by the mechanism being mis-timed. re-timing isn't difficult, but a service manual is absolutely necessary.
