The manual is here
the pinout is told
and there are 10,000 DIY case made and they are wired unique for front panel audio jacks
we must wire them custom to do that.
end to end. (find a tech as them to do that job)
have manuals for both in hand, bios star and the new diy case manual.
or the job is 10x harder.
done many but , gee 10,000 cases no the same.
there is no ATX front panel spec. sorry, same with usb front.
same with power button.
the mobo is DIY, means , knowing how to do DIY only works.

Need circuit diagram for HP m8100 GC673AA

HP Support > Pavilion Media Center M8100n Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3440614&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

Product information > Product specifications > Motherboard Specifications, MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2 {HP name} ),

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the Main wires connect to, is the Front Panel header.
(Power On switch, Power On LED, HarDDrive activity LED, etc)

The Front Panel header is Black, rectangular in shape, and is situated in a vertical position; located in the Bottom Right corner of the motherboard. (Next to the mounting hole)

It is a standard 9-pin HP Front Panel header,

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Getting-a-new-case-i-need-Front-Panel-pinout/td-p/842897

Scroll down to the 9-pin Front Panel header photo, and pinout.

The 4-pin side is the EVEN side. Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO Pin 10.
The 5-pin side is the ODD side. Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED. (Light Emitting Diode, so it is redundant to call it a light)

Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
IF the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, (IN use), switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

C) Pin 9 is N/C. Not Connected. Reserved for factory use, and it is +5 Volts.

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED.
Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the PWR LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

Scroll the HP Support Motherboard Specification page down. Click on the + sign next to Motherboard Layout.

Left to Right on bottom edge of motherboard, Internal Connectors;

AUDIO_1 is for the audio ports on the Front Panel.
ATX_IN is where the small audio cable from the optical drive plugs in.
(CD/DVD drive)
IF TWO optical drives are used; the Main, or Primary optical drive, is connected with the small audio cable. NOT the secondary optical drive.

HD_AUDIO also connects to audio ports in the Front Panel.
May be mistaken, but don't believe SPDIF_OUT header is used.
1394A1 header is for the Firewire ports in the Front Panel (1394a)
USB 2 and USB 4 headers are for the Front Panel USB ports.
USB 1 and USB 3 should be for a Card Reader.

Need where the power cables go, and what they look like? Just post back in a Comment.

(Be SURE to FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions)

The Picture below shows you the locations of the places to put those wires are in relation to your motherboard. In yellow is the power switch and such. and the audio connection is in red.

The Pin layout for the power and other connector are as follows:
avatar23454_10.jpg

the layout for the audio header is as follows: avatar23454_8.jpg

To install the cable that connects a front panel audio solution to the front panel audio header, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Turn off the computer and disconnect the AC power cord.
  2. Locate the front panel audio header (J8A1).
  3. Remove the three jumpers from the header (this disables the back panel audio connectors).
  4. Install a correctly keyed and shielded front panel audio cable.
  5. Connect the audio cable to the front panel audio solution.

To restore back panel operations follow these steps:
1. Remove the front panel audio cable. 2. Install a jumper on pins 5-6 (rear R channel). 3. Install a jumper on pins 9-10 (rear L channel). 4. Install a jumper on pins 1-2 (mic). 5. Replace the cover.

I got problem to input sound on g31 motherboared, please guide me how can i input sound in g31 motherboard>

The G31-M7 TE MB has a intergrated sound chip.
Enter the bios. Open Chipset. Open South Bridge configuration. Find Audio controller. This should be set to [Azalia] Save and exit the bios.
Next check JAUDIOF1: found on page 14. If you are not going to use the cases front audio and mic than there should be a two pin jumper covering pins
5 & 6 and pins 9 & 10. If you're case supports front audio / mic ports, (You can not use the front audio ports and the rear audio ports at the same). time). Once everything above is set, got to Biostar and download the audio driver software;

If you still have a problem with you're sound. Explain any actions you have taken.

Good luck!

Problem with microphone

most of the old motherboards dont support the audio and mic port to work both in back side(back panel header) and front side (front panel header)simultaneously...

most of the old motherboards dont support multi streaming so you cant make both the back panel header and front panel header to work at a time ie i mean you cant connect both panel header at a time ...

you can just refer to your motherboard manual for the detailed information about it ..

in your motherboard if there is any option to connect the front panel header to the motherboard other than the back panel header you can connect it to that the detailed pin information will be given in the motherboard manual ..

if you dont have the option in the motherboard to connect the front panel header seperately then you must remove the pins connected from the back panel header and you must insert the front panel header pins .
this will disable your back panel audio ,mic, linein functionalities but you will be able to connect in front panel header , this front panel header will work ..

if the motherboard is not compatible then the system assembler will leave the front panel wires not connecting to motherboard ..

like this only one panel can work at a time ,
but in the latest motherboards the multi streaming technology has been introduced so both the panels can work at a time and can play different audio on 2 different panels ...

thank you
bye
any doubts you can reply me
i am always here to assist you
please rate my solution
have a nice day

ASUS P4S800D sound card problem

Check to see if your audio header is hooked up correctly on your motherboard if your using the front panel audio, if your not using the front panel audio then make sure the audio header has the two jumpers on them!! Check your mother board manual for proper procedure to hook up! If that still doesn't help then it could be a faulty sound device! You can fix this buy purchasing a new sound card! hope this helps! regards, babb
