Abs dont beep. alarm does. you will need to check this. abs alarm and ecu and immobiliser etc are linked. I.e locked to you make and model and serial code. alarm can beep and knock out one of the units. sometimes if this fault happens it can be a simple problem like the external alarm unit has its own power but is charged from the main battery. these can go wrong, will beep. you can disconnect this part of the alarm. there is the back up alarm part. I would check this.
Testimonial: "Thank you for your reply Russ - How can I test or reset the external alarm unit and where can it be found on the car? I have just recently purchase a new battery to see if that was the cause of the ABS warning light and alarm beeping off but this has not solved anything I notice the battery would be flat after a day or two, I'm not sure if this is due the car not being in use and just sitting there or it's something depleting the battery."
there is 2 ways to fix this. one is the door switch on driver side other is you need to take the facia off under the front window. be aware that there are clips holding the cover in place under the window. these can brake off. the beeping can be of 2 things. its not holding its charge in the secondary alarm. internal battery fail. 2 the door switch for the alarm is not working so the the alarm thinks the door is open and is resetting the alarm every 5-10min this will also flatten the batter the same as the secondary unit. if it is the switch in the door it can be fixed or replaced this is not the light switch. you can some times sort it out with the engine running open the door and keep flicking the switch, push down on switch and let it out quickly a few times if this works after a few times the alarm beeping will go off. external alarm is not replaceable unless you have the car pass. this is the code that connects all the units together. and can only be done with a tec 2 type reader. hope this helps.
also to add having the battery will rest but if the problem has not been sorted it will just come back a day or 2 later or so.
Thanks Russ will try this out - from what I can remember when we ran the diagnostics there was a fault that came up with the door not sure what it was but we thought this wasn't anything to do with the ABS, will let you know the result.
Hi Russ - I am sorry I took a long time to come back to you, but I eventually got someone to look at my car.
Tested the door switch but the beeping continues, I have a picture of what I think you meant by the facia under the front window, is this correct?
What would I be looking for?
Would this be the alarm unit & checking its internal battery
What is a Tec 2 Type Reader and where can I purchase?
I know you said about the Tec 2 type Reader, I am not sure what to do next.
they are also know as obd reader you can buy them off ebay. something like thishttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-KKL-VAGCOM... this will help determine the problem
forgot to say sorry not getting post's for some reason, there is another thing that can be wrong, there is an external alarm that runs off its own battery, this can cause a beeping and a battery drain if becomes faulty, you need to determine were the beeping is coming from as were its beeping can be were the extra alarm is fitted.
this is the part, when they fail the unit will beep and and drain power it will beep when the power is turned off to it I.e when the ignition is turned on to start engine. it is in the engine bay under the window compartment. they drain the battery over 2-3days battery should last a week with no problems,http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-VOLKSWAGEN...
Hi Russ - thanks for your reply will get someone to check this out for me and get back to you with the result.
Hi Ross
I have put the vag com onto my car and it shows the following
The beeping is coming from the dash board where the wheel is.
sorry i cannot read this its to small.
I can only upload photos and not a word document
on the abs unit remove the plug from it clean the points on it. it may be a seal leaking. as for the miss fire codes this could be down to a bad connection from either the crank or cam sensor, the plugs may be at fault try cleaning them also check the seal on the plug connection when they off the sensor. or it could be the ecu is giving the wrong fuel mis and that can be down to air flow temp sensor on the intake air pipe. going weak and giving the wrong temp.

yes it would cause the check engine light to come on.But just find the bleeper and remove it it want affect the cencer. The bleeper is separate from the censer..
SOURCE: ABS light and brake light on
there are 2 options, ABS module is most likely, I just had my ABS module remanufactured and it worked greate when i re-installed.
the second option is the wheel sensor could have a bad connection(may have been bumped when your bearing got looked at.
there are a few companies that repair ABS modules, i used modulemasters, they did a good job, i can not vouch for any of the other companies.

hi from uk for your info there was a recall back in2004/5 for the getz relating to the abs system going faulty my wifes 2003 getz gsi was recalled and i took car to dealers for her to enquire what fault has there beenon some getz with abs system? as fault had not occured on ours ? apparently there had been a fault with the wire loom to pump particularly the earh cable deteriating ? so this loom had to be inspected and replaced under warranty however as i had waxoiled all underneath our getz including abs pump due to its location low down the loom was ok but was changed anyway and recorded and a dated sticker placed on cars glove compartment door inside to verify loom changed ? SO b4 you progress any further i would check with hyundai tech dept to whether you car had been inspected or whether slipped through unchecked ? your gran should have had a recall as we did for modified loom hope this helps?
