Why does my Troy Bilt model number 13AJ609G766 slip from forward to reverse and wont cut in reverse?

The shift lever has a torsion spring, part 26. See if it is broken.

It doesn't cut in reverse by design.

I have a drayton expert petrol lawn mower, it starts then after a few minutes it cuts out, it won't start up again untill after a few minutes then it does the same thing again...it has plenty new

Make sure the gas cap is clean and vented

sounds like you missed a pulley or belt guide and the belt fell off

sounds like its sucking air, check the fuel line clamps, check the cylinder head bolts and spark plug, are they tight?

My Troy-Bilt mower starts easily but not as powerful, stays on for less than 5 minutes and gradually stops. some black smoke is coming out

If the black smoke comes out of the muffler, you are burning excess fuel and could have an air filter plugged up to restrict air intake and cause the engine to run rich, therefor black smoke.

i have a troy bilt riding mower,i start the mower it only runs for 15 to 25 min's ,so i changed the coil to see if it would run long. but after a few minunts it stop again so i don't know if maybe it's my carb. what could it be.... help

You may want to check the gas cap to see if it clogged with dirt. If the gas cap is clear, you more than likely have a carburetor problem. If you need tips on carb. cleaning, feel free to ask.

But, the battery drains out to quickly though Jim Parker what do you think it could be?

then it will not kick over the starter after the battery runs out though as well ..
