Smart Chip Not Valid on my Nokia N75

SOURCE: SIM CARD NOT VALID

Seems your unit is locked to your provider.

off the phone ........ change the setting

I had this problem and fixed it, here's how.
Remove the battery cover and the battery. Flip open the metal hinged piece that holds the sim card/smartchip. Picture:

Notice there are six little brass contacts where the sim card contacts the phone. What you need to do is gently bend each of those contacts up slightly. I used a pocket knife for this. Picture:

You only need to raise each contact up slightly so that it will make contact with the sim card again. After you have done all six contacts put everything back together and try it out.
