Yahoo messenger not opening from desk top icin

If your computer operating system is windows vista or 7 click start button_settings--control panel-Programs and Features then you will see installed prrogrammes on your computer choose yahoo messanger from the list at the bottom and clik on it then you will see uninstall icon on the top click it and follow the simple step.

If it is windows xp go to start--- settings-control panel ----Add/remove programes and point to yahoo messenger and click remove good luck

If you are clicking on the Yahoo Messenger icon and nothing is happening, then the messenger could be corrupted. You may uninstall or re-install your messenger.

However, if you can launch the icon, but you cannot sign in to it, be sure that your user name and password is correct.

You may give me an update regarding this issue if you have any clarifications.

Please reinstall it. That will definitely solve your problem, but before you do it, uninstall it from the control panel. You can download the latest version from this link Yahoomessenger. Good luck

Find the Yahoo Messenger program in your programs list, right-click the Yahoo Messenger program icon, choose Send To Desktop - Create Shortcut.

First off this has happen a freid I have it means you have more versions of messager then you realize, you need to go your files and lokk threw complete computer for all yahoo programs unistall all programs and then turn off computer and then reinstall over again Lala linda 

Please check the right bottom side with clock ...there will be one gray Yahoo messenger ICON just double click on that or Right click and choose Show Yahoo Messenger...if that is not there press Alt+Ctrl+Del to open Task Manager...check if there is any process running related Yahoo or Named Yahoo....just Choose that and End Process that...
Now try open yahoo messenger again...

If still not works...Uninstall Yahoo messenger....restart PC...Download and Install it again....

You need the following OS to support Messenger 10 beta
Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/XP64/Vista64
If that is not a problem read on.

The problem may be due to a mal-function of the uninstall software.
Close all programs when uninstalling / downloading and uploading.

Uninstall from the C drive

Start > Computer >> Local drive (C) >> Program Files >> Yahoo >> Messenger >> UNWISE

Unwise is the command to start the uninstall process - click 'Auto' if prompted
The Yahoo uninstall software can be problematic you may have old software remaining on the C drive
If you have Vista the whole Messenger folder should have been removed during the uninstall.
Check
- The Messenger folder should have been deleted and not seen. If the Messenger folder is still visible - delete it.

If you have a pre-Vista OS, the Messenger folder remains, and inside, only one sub-folder should be seen. This is the 'Profile' folder and contains all the message history. All other software should have been deleted.

Manually delete any other folders and files before moving on

Download 'ccleaner' and run it through a couple of times.

Re-start your computer and download Yahoo Messenger from here.

Re-Download the software from www.download.com . Then Click the icon, it will install the yahoo messenger in your computer.

you can always have the yahoo messenger icon your your program files... click on "start""all programs" then you will find Yahoo! messenger there

try this turn off your computer or lap top and try it again if this wont work let me know.
