Problems connecting to yahoo mail through yahoo messenger

I can connect to yahoo messenger but when I press the button on the yahoo messenger window to take me to my yahoo mail, it doesn't do anything. Because of this I am forced every time to connect to yahoo mail only through the yahoo mail page.

You do not say what browser you are using or how many - I run 3, IE - Firefox and Chrome. If something is not working I launch another one to try. Even if you only run one do this - Start > default programs > set your default programs > find your browser and select > OK Download ccleaner and run it every day to keep your browser clean.http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean...

1) Have you tried another browser ? I run 3, Firefox, IE and Chrome. Keep one without plug-ins and add-ons, in case they are creating a problem
2) Sometimes I get the same problem and have to run ccleaner and then reset the cookies by signing it at the mail page

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

make sure the software necessary to run Messenger is kept up to date by visiting the websites and checking
Flashplayer, Shockwaveplayer and Java
Check that no old versions of these 3 are sitting alongside the latest versions, creating conflicts
If you have Yahoo toolbar installed - delete it and install the latest which incorporates the patch for Yahoo Mail

Set your status to "offline" in Yahoo Mail, by using the dropbox next to your name and "sign out of chat". This will allow Mail and Messenger to be open together.

I am trying to use my yahoo.es account on windows live

No, you cannot use Yahoo in place of Windows Live. They are independent and so they have different programs eg. Yahoo! Messenger for yahoo and Window Messenger for Windows Live. Even if you would like to access both of them in one program, you cannot access them together, eg. You cannot view Yahoo Mails from Windows Live Mail and vise versa. But there's a way that you can add multiple accounts in Microsoft Outlook or Windows Live Mail. When I say this, I don't mean you are actually accessing Yahoo from Windows Live or vise versa but you can access yahoo mails from Windows Live Mail or Microsoft Outlook. Please follow this LINK, hopefully that will help you get some idea about how to set up and how it works.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

We have yahoo messenger 8 we cant get signed into it

If you have tried restarting your computer, signing in with your Yahoo e-mail prefix (without the @yahoo.com) and your e-mail password without sucess, and you are sure your caps aren't locked and your information is correct, Yahoo Messenger Help suggests the following:

Copied and pasted from Yahoo Messenger Help:

Why can't I connect with Yahoo! Messenger?

No go, eh? We're sorry to hear you're having problems connecting to our servers. Your Yahoo! Messenger connection information may be incorrect. Follow these steps to configure your connection:

Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."

Enable the "Firewall with no proxies" option.

Select the correct Internet connection type and country from the pull-down menus.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

The above configuration works in most situations. (However, if you connect in this way, you won't be able to use the Voice feature.) If this configuration doesn't work, follow these steps:

Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."

Enable the "No network detection" option and then click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in again with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

If neither of the above options work (sorry), you're probably behind a firewall or proxy server that requires you to enter its address. Follow these steps:

Click the Messenger menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Connection Preferences."

Enable the "Use proxies" option.

Enter your firewall or proxy server's address and port number. Contact your network administrator (if you're at work), or your Internet service provider (if you're at home) to determine the correct firewall and proxy settings.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Yahoo! Messenger will ask you if you want to sign in with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click the "Sign In" button.

I see yahoo 10 messenger has a problem when i try to open my e-mail it says windows is haveing trouble with loading also with getting into the chat rooms that windows shuts off most of the time

Yahoo products like messenger and mail, rely its connection through windows Internet Explorer. If you are currently experiencing trouble loading this browser, chances are your yahoo messenger will not work completely.

The best thing to do is upgrade the Internet Explorer to version 8, compatible to the operating system of your computer. After that, uninstall your yahoo messenger 10 and reinstall again. Restart your computer.

The nest time you try to sign in, it will take you only seconds and will never experience loosing connection again.

You may also refer to a helpful tips on solving " can't sign-in problem " with yahoo messenger.

Please give me a good rating when you have successfully restored to connection of your YM.

Thank you for using Fixya.
