I have a 05 trailblazer. It won't start. Thought it was the battery so replaced it. Ran fine bout a week. Now it won't start again. Replaced starter and still didn't fix the problem. Also replaced Ignition box didn't fix the problem. I'm dum founded now. Can any one help.

Are you saying it will not start, or will not crank ?

It won't start or crank. Turn the key all the lights come on like normal but don't do anything. There is a slight clicking from the top of the motor.

Could be the neutral safety switch which is part of the transmission select switch. Check and see if you have power at the starter posts with the key switch in the start position. And try cranking it in neutral.

SOURCE: sometimes it won't start, just

if your power going to starter from ignition switch ,your starter has to be faulty or main wires on starter has bad connection

SOURCE: dodge Grand Caravan won't start. Replaced ignition and starter tested fine but when I turn key and nothing happens

Check the neutral safety switch on the transmission. It should have three wires on the connector (if I remember correctly). There should be power on the Brown with yellow wire with the key in the crank position. If there is ground that wire and see if the van starts. If it does replace the switch. SOURCE: replaced ignition cylinder now starter won't engage

Get a meter and see if starter is getting 12 volts,if not,your inline fusible link is blown.

Check batry terminals are secure & free from corosion, check security of earth strap to engine & main power wire on starter, if ok have the batry load tested to ensure it can perform under load as the starter needs a lot of current. Have you tried a jump start?

Are the plugs wet with fuel?
Check for spark. No spark? it may be the ignition module.

Plugs dry and spark present? No fuel?Spray a little starting fluid and see if it will run on that.
Then check pump fuses and for fuel pump noise.

did they run a test on the alternator!! at battery when off should be at least 12.6 volts, less than 12 volts battery is bad. when running at battery voltage should be at least 14.1 to 14.7, thats if alternator is ok. if less than above replace alternator. if alt. is ok, could be a bad battery.
