This is a common problem in the projection tv faced by many users.that the sound goes out and comes properly when using dvd player on it.but its the problem of weak sound ic on the main board of the tv that has to be replaced its also called the audio ic. as the sound only comes because the dvd itself has its sound ic in the device so the sound comes from that ic which you get.

Convergences not linning up and bowed after replacing a blown fuse

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some images of convergence problems.

Closed caption display will not turn off!

Are you using this TV with a cable box, satellite receiver or DTV converter? Some models of these devices include closed caption decoding. You may have the function turned on there.

Need to warm up????

Sounds like something wrong in the tuner circuit How about performing a by-pass test? Use the A/V 1 or 2 inputs on the bottom rear of tv to hook-up signal.Use dvd or source box. When the set is cold, turn on and check. If the pix & sound are good, then the tv has a tuner problem. If you can live with two inputs,no repairs need to be done.Caution:observe funky,side-ways hook-up on A/V 2 !!!
