How many emails are in your inbox?? a lot of times, there are old emails at the bottom that go unnoticed. It happens to me every other day... not trying to sound condescending but try scrolling all the way down, or deleting all the junk that you do not need. or try checking the trash/bulk folder... maybe by deleting some without opening them, the server still sees them as unread and therefore 'new'...
please rate if this helps, or respond for further assistance...thanks

How to delete Junk mail without going to each one

1.Create folders within your email program to store your emails. Make the folders appropriate for storing the emails you receive. For example, if you regularly receive emails from certain people, make a folder to store emails from each person. Make folders to store professional emails and personal emails, and make subfolders within each to further categorize and sort your emails.

2.Set your message rules to route your emails to your specific folders. Many email programs have different levels of junk email filtering. Choose a low or high setting based on the volume of junk mail you receive. Once you have created message rules and junk email filtering, the junk email will be easily noticed when it arrives in your main inbox. Your email program will also attempt to recognize junk mail and will send it to junk and spam folders.

3.Take a few moments each day to browse through your email folders to review the emails you receive. Important emails sometimes get routed to the wrong folders, and they can go unnoticed if you do not check your email folders regularly.

4.Open your spam or junk mail folder and make sure these folders do not contain any emails you wish to keep. If there are emails that are not junk, drag them to the inbox or another folder for storage. Depending on your email program, you also may highlight the email and find a "Not Junk" option to alert your program that this email does not belong in the spam folder. Once you are sure the folders contain only junk mail, highlight one email folder. Press "Control-A" to highlight all of the emails in the folder. After highlighting these emails, press the shift key at the same time that you press the "Delete" button. This will delete all of the emails without sending them to the deleted folder.

5.Manage your junk email filter by opening the "Options" in your email program. From here you can add "Safe Senders" or "Blocked Senders" to either list.

I want to delete inbox from my pc

Hello,

Generally when someone uses the term 'inbox' they are talking about the folder where their email program stores emails. This folder can contain emails that have been read and emails that have not been read. After you 'delete' and email from your 'inbox' it is usually stored in a folder called 'Trash'.

Anyway, if you actually want to delete 'inbox' as apposed to say deleting all the emails in 'inbox' it can get a little tricky.

Here is how it is done for Firefox:

Go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'Account Settings'. Find 'Server Settings' under the account for which you wish to remove the 'inbox'.. Once on the 'Server Settings' page look for 'Local Directory' on the bottom left of the dialog. Click on the 'Browse' button. When the 'Browse for Folder' dialog comes up you will see your current 'inbox's name and location as it will be highlighted in the list.

I'd recommend chosing a new folder as your 'inbox' at that time, Then use Windows Explorer to browse to that location and delete the folder.

I want to save an email message to my memory stick but pc wont do it

Hi,

Please follow the following steps to backup your emails from Vista on the
memory stick and then download them on in Vista Mail of another PC:

Backup emails on memory stick
1) Browse to the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Window s Mail
folder
2) Open the local folders directory
3) Open the Inbox folder and Copy the contents of this folder
4) Close all windows and go to your desktop
5) Create a new folder and call it MSBackup
6) Paste all items into this new folder.
A manual backup of the message store has just taken place. You may now
simply copy the MSBackup Folder to your memory stick

Restore emails from memory stick to another PC

1) Copy the MSBackup Folder from the memory stick to desktop.
2) On the desktop, open the MSBackup Folder.
3) Copy all the items in the MSBackup folder and close the window
4) Browse to the c:\users\<username>\local\windows mail\local folders
directory
5) Open the Inbox Folder
6) Paste all the items into this folder. Choose yes if prompted to
overwrite folders/files.
7) Open Windows Mail. You will notice all the email messages have returned.

Let me know if this works.
