My first question is do you know if the check engine light was on while you were on the road ? If yes, then you need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes.
Someone will need to figure out if it is a no spark or no fuel problem to proceed.

SOURCE: Car dies while driving

I think that your crank angle sensor failed. Is the check engine light on?? if so, scan it and get code. If the code is P0335, than you need new crank angle sensor. Nissan has been having some problems with those even on other Nissan products. (Altima, Pathfinder and so on) Good luck.

SOURCE: car wont start

Does the engine sound different when it cranks? It might be a timing belt concern? Remove the oil cap and look for the camshaft.(you might need a flashlight).Have a partner crank the engine and watch the cam. If it stays still you have a bad timing belt.Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: engine dies, starts rough

Most large parts stores read codes free. Most common cause is crank sensor, but I'd have code checked before buying anything.

SOURCE: my 97 jimmy sometimes dies while driving and

Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

I have a 1997 buick skylark custom problems

I too have a 97 buick skylark custom, that hasn't been cranking. Heres what I have figured out so far, so you may have the same problem. Heres the first question - Is the theft system light flashing when you try to crank the car? Cause if it is, it means the car isn't wanting to recognize your key as the correct key which is causing the car to go into tamper mode which disables fuel to the engine, in which case you have to turn the key back to the start position and wait for the light to stop flashing then try to crank it again.

P.S. i'm not sure why this other thing would be a problem but i lost my gas cap right before this started happening and someone told my that might trigger the sensor, do you have yours?

My front tire is sqeeling and somtimes my car putts when i'm on the highway and sometimes there is smoke from the tire area but not under the hood what is it and what can i do to fix it

"squeal" noise could be low tire pressures, or even low brake warning sensors on the brake pads. Squeal with foot OFF of the brake pedal, and goes away on brake application. Hope this helps

Car will not start

Dead battery.
If the lights came on while driving,
Alternator needs to be replaced.
If the car wouldnt start after being off, battery is suspect.

97 buick skylark ac evaporator core what do i need to do to get to it

Did you replace the schrader valves (the thing in the inside of the A/C service fittings, you need a special tool to remove and install them) before you recharged the system? They are notorious for leaking if they are old.

If you did not, replace those and try again, if it leaks out again with no evidence you most likely have a bad evap core.

And yes, it's a pain in the ****, plan on it taking a 30 pack of bud light and a weekend to do, or one day and a 12 pack if you are good. Just start taking the dash apart, and may the force be with you. It will be behind the glove box
