Hey, sounds like a vacum leak - common on those engines. when engine is on idle open boonet and lissten out for any whoosing noises near the rear of engine. There is a breather there that can be changed ( black round ) or check the pipes that connect to it coming from rocker cover for damage.

SOURCE: BMW 318ci 2003 Blue Smoke When Engine is Warm

you definitley seem to be getting oil in your combustiion chamber, pull your spark plugs and see if they are coverd in oil. if so your valve seals are bad, if not your piston rings are bad. As far as the kncking noise its hard to tell though a description, id have to hear it, but ill go out on a limb and say its in relation to the leak it could be a piston or valve knock. The garage heard the noise, ididnt so i hope i could help.

You can fiddle with thiis and check oil pressures but best is sump off, thorough clean, teardown the pump thoroughly clean it and pickup and replace it if any wear or the pressure releif spring is weak. You have given no mileage and no information on the oil used nor whether in a really hot area or 'where'?..there are several considerations ranging even into worn bearings...Of course with acceleration motor speed increases oil pressure...that's why light goes out (unlikely but possible the sender unit is faulty...but try replacement of that first if you want...) It doesn't take a lot of pump wear to cavitiate and drop oil pressures.

BMW 318 ci coolant light comes on then goes off -

more than likely is being caused by a faulty level sensor but first check the connection and fluid level when engine is cold as fluid level will rise when engine warms up

Own a 2005 BMW M3, car battery draining -battery less than year.

From what you're saying here, I believe that you simply have a bad battery. Most batteries only last 5 years, much less if they're left to sit in storage periodically. You really should charge the battery overnight and do a load test on it the next day. The person(s) you spoke to at BMW were probably sales staff and not actual technicians. Costco has very good batteries at reasonable prices.

Ive got an bmw 316 compact when pulling away from traffic lights, t-junction car jerks alot

High possibility the maf sensor needs dervicing or replace. you can clea it yourself with electrical spray cleaner CRC brand. It is located inside the intake duct in a metal section. Do not brush or rub to clean. Use the spray to thoroughly wash off the sensor, It is sensitive and expensive to replace so be nice to it.
The spray will dry fast so don't use compressed air and don't physically touch the unit. Good Luck, Ned
