I have the same problem....I actually spent two hours in Vegas at the T-Mobile store and they could not figure it out either. I was there for business and part of me suspects that they didn't "want" to fix it as they knew I was trapped. At any rate, I am going to try some of the other troubleshooting techniques and see if they help...I'll keep you posted! Frankly, I think the phone is a piece of junk and I want to cancel my whole subscription. T-Mobile in Vegas said I basically needed to buy a new phone and since it is before my two-year commitment, I would have to pay full price...never mind the fact that I have been with this company for over 6 years and my average phone bill is no less than $200 a month....I'm tempted to pay my service fee for breaking my contract and starting up with a company that will value my business! Will it just not boot up all the way but just stops?
If so try the procedure at this link: T-mobile Dash Master Reset
If this doesn’t work then proceed to the following guide below.
The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.

my w900i turns on, and can charge. just got re-flashed from a white screen of death. now every time i try to acess something on the phone such as a midi file or the master reset, it freezes and the back light flashes on and off and the phone vibrates. is this a software error? does it need to be reflashed?
Turn the handheld
off, hold the two soft keys (the dashes to the left and right of the phone buttons)
hold the power button for 1-2 seconds and then release the soft keys. It should
prompt you to clear storage. The “send” button is considered as the
green phone button.

do a sw reset....its possible it was damaged when it was dropped in the water, but not likey....
turn the phone off, press and hold the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the home key and back arrow key) and hold it down.....press the power button while you are doing that until the white t-mobile screen will come on, then instead of going to the green windows mobile screen, a black screen with white writing......press the green button....it will get you in your phone but it will erase your info as a result....
