You will need to first use the below link and install Dell Webcam central:

Then try following the below steps to open laptop camera:

(1)Click start.
(2)Type Device and Printers in the search box and select it.
(3)Now find the webcam.

You need to look on the webcam itself and find the model number. Then go to the link below and download the most up to date driver and install.

There is the possibility that the camera will never work. If it is USB 1.0/1.1 it may not be compatible with newer hardware/software systems. I have run into that issue with MS webcams in the past, and unfortunately there is nothing that you can do about it.

Update the drivers and check, also try and use a lens cleaner on the drive and if the DVD does not read then the drive is faulty and must be replaced.Finally you can check this on another PC to confirm.

If your PC doesn't show it then you unplug it and plug it again. If it's recognized by your PC then it should appear in the "My Computer" hard disk drives.

You have to go into your system setting and re enable it. If you do not see your sound card in your system/device manager/ then you will have to reload your drivers. You can get these drivers off the internet from your laptop manufacture website. To find your manufactures web site. Use your favorite search engine. Enter Advent Laptop support. Look for you manufacture web site. Then click on support and find your particular model. Download the drivers you need.
