I've had this happen before when I tried to rob from one PC for the better one. It took me a while to figure out the correct order that I removed them in but when I got the right ones in the right slots she fired right up!

Dell dimension 4700- added 2gb module in memory slot one, color coded white, and added 2gb module slot 3, also color coded white. only 2 gb recognized by computer, the second module is not recognized. ...

This motherboard uses inter-leaved RAM and RAM needs to be installed in pairs.
Check the BIOS RAM settings.
Try and use the same make of RAM.
One of the RAM modules may be faulty.
Try inserting the RAM module that was in slot 3 to slot 1

When I push the power button on my Dell Dimension B110, nothing happens. There is power to the board, as there displays a green light. What shall I do?

take a look inside ..maybe wires are loose or something like that .. and while you are doing that ..remove the ram memory also ..and check them one by one ..and see if it boot-up or not ..also remove the bios battery and place it back ..If by mistake you selected something in bios related with the power button or the way it will boot up ..this will default the bios and will get it back to the factory settings ..and it may work if it is something related with it ..
Otherwise..I can not see what the issue may be ..but a faulty motherboard..or something related with the cpu ..try to see if the fan is working ..If this is unplugged or malfunctioning ..it will cause the cpu to stop the boot up ..

Slow computer. Slow to boot. Runs slow most of the time. Running Windows XP on Dell Dimension B110. Verizon high speed access. Use Explorer. Plenty of disk space. I've run the cleanups, killed the...

First thing I would do is take the desktop outside and clean it out with two cans of compressed air.

HEAT can really slow a machine down. Let me know if that makes a difference (good to do either way) and we'll go from there.

Check first if the memory is loose or there are any parts that have come loose such us IDE or SATA cables, For errors you should also get warning sounds.

Memory Upgrade Attempt Causes Computer Not to Post

Seeing as the message is indicating a problem at one of the timer checkpoints, fatal is probably an accurate description. You are most likely looking at a motherboard replacement scenario. I've seen improperly seated memory modules toast timer circuitry on old boards back in the days when most of the timing circuitry was constructed from discrete components, not entirely IC-based timing solutions, but I have never seen it happen on modern boards.

I need to boot a dimension b110 from the cdrom.

Turn the computer on.
Immediately press the F10 key, repeatedly,
until the computer enters "SETUP" mode.
Then, change the "boot order" (or "boot priority") to select the CD-ROM device.

Dell b110 won't boot

Hi,

The diagnostic codes you mentioned A & B amber C & D green indicate that the issue is related to the memory. Reseating the memory firmly resolves this issue. Most times the memory needs to be firmly pressed in till the latches click.

Below is the link to the No Power, No POST, No Video troubleshooting.
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/tree?c=us&l=en&s=gen&journalid=&treeid=011360B8243248349C306481A954B356&Query=&SystemID=&ServiceTag=&contenttype=&os=&component=&lang=&doclang=en&toggle=&dl=false
Follow all the steps and if there is no hardware failure, this will definitely resolve your issue.

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!
Thanks,
