I took the car seat apart in order to wash it but now I cant put it back together. Any ideas?

This can be very tricky! Usually, you must put on the cover first, then guide the belt through the openings from the front. Turn the metal retainer clips sideways, and then anchor them on the back of the seat. I used to have one of these seats, sorry I do not still have the manual though. You can also try going to the company website for advice. Good luck.
