I have a Jazz dvx40 camcorder, ihad it about a mounth or so and whean i turned it on one day IT HAD THE JAZZ LOGO AND IT DIDN'TURN OFF HOW CAN I FIX IT AND SAVE MONEY???
I know it's probably too late but I fixed my DVX40 with the same problem. I took it apart - 4 screws in the battery compartment and one on the back under the a/v ports. Locate the 8 pin IC chip on the lower left of the circuit board. With power OFF, I shorted between the gaps on both sides of the IC with a screwdriver tip. It now works fine. I'm not sure which two shorted pins actually reset it but I did them all.I know it's probably too late but I fixed my DVX40 with the same problem. Forgot to mention: You'll need to gently pry the silver ring off of the lens in order to get the camera apart.Forgot to mention: You'll need to gently pry the silver ring off of the lens in order to get the camera apart.

Yes. Take the batteries out to make it go off. You did not add the SD card yet, did you. The SD card are tricky also if it comes with an adapter you have to insert the SD card adapter into the bottom of the SD card and insert it into the Jazz to get it to work properly. Instructions are available online with Google search. These are so tiny you won't think it will go in there but it clicks in perfectly when you find the right edge. And, check the lock on the SD card to unlock instructions for this are also in a Google search. If all else fails get a replacement. It should work if you do all of these things (even on Ubuntu0.
is the card removeable....if so..can you insert it into the memory slot on your laptop and find it in your "my computer"... and erase it there...I do this with my SD cards for my camera... phillip
Load them to you PC's card reader as it will be detected, Now copy any files to the required folder before you can right click on the card icon to choose format , Formatting will erase and clear all data on the card.
I have the Jazz dvx40. When I turn It on all I get is the Jazz logo. I have to take the battarys out to turn it off. I have put new battarys in and get the same results. What can I do?
