I have just purchased a Magnavox VHS/DVD recorder/player and cannot hook it up to my TV as my TV only has a coax plug in the back. Someone said I need a tuner. Where do I purchase one and how...

A tuner will only help if you want to record a signal and the DVD/VCR doesn't have a built-in tuner for that broadcast type (ATSC (OTA Digital in the US), NTSC (analog), Clear-QAM (unencrypted digital cable)). What you need is an RF modulator (composite to coax converter). These are available at many stores that sell electronics. The price will depend on the store. Here's one that is $30 at Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103095 . Walmart and Best Buy also list them.

I hope this helps.

I can't believe Amazon will sell that **** from China. You got your money for this one but it'll be the last piece of **** I buy from Magnavox. They use to have great products

Kindly consider below things before you bought product online: - Detail of product ( country of origin, warranty, accessories etc) - Manufacturer country. - Customer care contact point
It is better to know widely the product before you buy.

Need remote code to use a universal remont on my

hello, your DVD did come with a manual I guess.Talking about universal remote,I think it comes with a manual. You can request for a new universal remote control with a manual that contains the code of the device you are using. If not you could also buy the appropriate remote control for your device at an electronic store where they sell elect products, or better still, buy the remote from the place you bought your device. if you experience anymore problems operating your device pls feel free to let me know.
Thanks.

Vcr plays but can't always get the dvd to play if at all

we did try cleaning it but that didn't seem to help. (whether the cleaner disc actually worked or not, don't know) Because we have had the combo for over 5 years someone told us it has seen better days and rather than spending $ to repair it , we decided to just buy a new one. Still wonder if there was a simple remedy to fix it.

Connecting a freeview box

Your dvd player should be connected to the TV INPUT under norma conditionsl. What kind of recorder are you using? VCR player ?, Is it also a VCR recorder ( one cannot assume because I happened to own a VHS\vcr PLAYER, not player & recorder)Is Your VCR recorder? Then It must be connected to freeview box with universal scart to RCA converter box.You have "" dvd player in av2, vcr av1"" where? TV? freeview box scart connector ?
You will need scart to RCA converter box for sure.
