Television buzzing noise
Sounds like the audio output IC has damaged. Chekc and replace damaged component/s at its audio output stage circuit, or replace the audio output card. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Check the site in '

I have a 42" Proscan standby light comes on but the tv wont turn on
I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues: ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good. 2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc. 3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves
checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem. 4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set. Answers to issues: 1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason. 2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail. 3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not. 4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo

Colors are negative

Proscan 42 lcd makes a humming noise and the color starts breaking down in the color blocks and the screen sometimes flickers
The LCD is breaking down and the voltage regulator in the power supply (hence the hum) can't provide enough gain to energize the crystal so it flickers and acts up. These often get damaged in transit. (Time for a new TV/monitor. Bear in mind that such consumer electronics only have a useful life of 6 years.) These off-brand TVs purchased from supermarkets like COSTCO and Wal-Mart are notoriously problematic. Take it back, if you can and demand your money back. Don't get another one to replace it! Depending upon where you live, most consumer electronic devices have an Implied Warranty (unwritten) of one year from the date of purchase for merchantability (meets safety standards) and free of defects. It may also have a Specific Warranty (written) which lists other conditions. Stick with reputable brands like Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Philips, Toshiba, and Sony, if want some measure of quality control and reliability. There is a reason why they cost more!
How much to fix a proscan 42 in tv on off switch
That is not the problem, a circuit board is shorted out and it shuts off as a safety function. The cost to repair can be as high as $500.00 New TV's are very cheap I would just replace it. Proscan is not the best brand for reliability, Vizio is better and cost only slightly more at walmart
My proscan tv has the blue light but wont turn on
Most likely it's the power supply board that went out. (part of it still works is why you get the blue LED when you plug it in.)If you decide to try to fix it yourself, BE CAREFUL! The power supply board has capacitors that can hold high voltages for many hours after the TV's been unplugged.The equivalent of sticking your finger in a light socket.You'll need the part number off the power supply to get a replacement.

Good day!!!!That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..1. Open the back cover of your TV.2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
