I have a usb port and I want to watch nexflex can

Hi - No, that would not be how to set it up (It wouldn't work) You would plug a VGA cable like the one most likely plugged into your monitor (15 pin connector on each end) from your PC video card (this is with both machines powered off) into the VGA port which you have on the TV.
With the PC on turn on the TV and with the remote select your source (would be called VGA or PC) and there would be your PC display on the TV. Bring up your browser and login to Netflix. The sound would come through your PC speaker and you would be watching movies on your 42 inch display.

Having problem with tv. I hear channel alright but

It will need part/s for sure.
Please try :
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on: Basic LCD monitor and TV troubleshooting guide: http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide http://www.fixya.com/support/r6150077-basic_lcd_monitors_troubleshooting http://www.fixya.com/support/r7406380-tv_training_manuals Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Parts: www.shopjimmy.com Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps. Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series. Please post back what you find. Please leave rating if it helps.

TV WILL NOT TURN ON.

Yes, it can be the power supply due to bad caps, but it can also be due to shorted circuits in the backlight inverter board that caused the TV to go into shutdow. You need to do some troubleshooting to narrow down the problem before buying the wrong parts.

My lcd sylvania will not

Power board or main board.

Pick one, buy, replace and see what happens.

At $72 delivered to you I think the power board is the easier choice:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Sylvania-LC420SS8-Power-supply-/250730878858?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a60b9978a

I am not anyhow associated with the seller, that was just what eBay gave me.

Of course if you're handy with a DMM you shouldn't need that...but this is the fastest and relatively cheap, considering you can always re-sell the board, way to check.

Hope this helps...if it does, don't forget to rate it :-)

Hi,
This symptom appears when power supply board got problem in tv. It seems power supply board is defective in tv that is why it is not turning On or it wont show power in indicator.
If you are handy with electronics stuff and have prior experience then unplug tv from wall socket, take off back of tv by removing screws at top-bottom and sides and check main fuse located on power supply board, replace it if found blown, replug tv and check.
If fuse blow again then replace power supply board as power part number written on it.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Can you use the buttons on the TV? If you can then it can be the remote IR receiver module inside. Check to see if it has remote sensor input jack on the back, if it does, it can be dirty contact in side the jack, you can clen it by plug and unplug the jack with the small headphone plug a couple of time to clean the switch contacts. If it does not have one you can try new remote IR receiver module. You can also check to see if the module is getting the 5v feeding it.
