The Garmin Nuvi 250 does not support loaded routes. You'll have to load the waypoints, and then just go from one to the next, to the next. You can transfer the waypoints to the GPS unit with a USB cord.

If a device is used daily it should be able to acquire satellites in a minute or less. Using a GPS device while it is outdoors with a clear view of the entire sky is the ideal condition for acquiring satellites. Please know that there can be several different factors that may cause a GPS unit to not acquire satellites:

• If your unit is trying to acquire satellites for the first time, it may take longer than normal to establish an initial position. If the unit is powered on and outdoors with a clear view of the sky this should not take more than 3-5 minutes.
• If your unit has not been used for an extended period of time (more then a month), it may take 3-5 minutes to acquire satellites.
• If your unit is indoors, it may not acquire satellites. Even standing next to a window indoors will block a majority of the sky which is needed for a device to locate and lock onto a satellite signal.
• If you have just finished updating the software in your unit or you have performed a master reset, your unit may take 3-5 minutes to acquire while outdoors as the data that is used to locate satellites may have been erased.
• If your unit has traveled over 500 miles while turned off or not tracking your travel, it may take 3-5 minutes to acquire even in ideal conditions.
• If your vehicle has a protective coating on its windshield or electronic devices which interfere with the unit receiving signal, your unit may need an external antenna* in order to acquire satellites.
• If you suspect this to be an issue, try taking the unit outside of the vehicle with a clear view of the sky for 3-5 minutes so that the unit can acquire satellites. If your unit loses satellites once moved back into your vehicle you will most likely need an external antenna*.

If your unit is still having trouble acquiring satellites, please ensure that it has the latest version of operating software by using our WebUpdater program. Once your unit is updated please allow the unit to acquire satellites outdoors in a stationary position with a clear view of the sky.

Yes, the fuse in in the end of the charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Be careful when you unscrew it as there is a spring in it. Replace the fuse if burnt out with an exact match.

there is no such a thing as free map update,unless there was a special offer on when you bought your Garmin.

What happens when you turn it off and on? Now there are one of two ways to reset depending on the model. Either press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the nuvi for several seconds(do not reset with a ballpoint pen or other sharp object, which can damage the unit or the battery. If your nuvi doesn't have a reset button, slide the power key to the left and hold it for 8 seconds. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Some computers have a limited power capacity on the USB ports, another possibility is that your gps battery is too low to be charged via the USB connection, try charging it with a wall or car adapter first, then connect to your pc.

If you want Italian, then the unit will show Italian. If you want it to show English, then you set it up for English. You can't have Italian verbal directions on an English unit.

To change the unit back to English:
Press Wrench.
Press the button with the picture of gears on it.
Press Down arrow.
Choose second menu item from the top.
Press the middle of the 3 boxes on the right.
Press up arrow to find American or British English.

make sure it has a good charge on it...if the battery is very low, it will slow down or prevent the satellites form locking on

plug it in to the computer for a few hours, then take it outside in clear view of the sky and let it link up to the satillites.

to check of your unit needs any updates..go HERE and download the garmin web updater and after you install it, hook up your garmin to your computer via the usb cable provided with your unit.

should have two hidden screws under the serial tag on the bottom. there carefully pry the two halves apart with something like a piece of plastic so as not to damage the case.

manuals are available on the garmin site.

This means the unit is going into mass storage mode, which is usually caused by a faulty or non compatible charger, so if possible i would recommend trying a different charger to see if this rectifies the issue

Do you have a factory Garmin cord?
Do you have voltage at the plug in the car?
Is the cord you are using good?
Does the cord you are using have a fuse in it?
Is it good?

Sounds like you are not getting power to the unit when plugged in.
Check all above.
and.......try another cord....try plugging into another cars plug.

Unfortunately, even if you perform master reset on Garmin GPS unit, it does not reset Garmin Lock security feature, which password-protect most Garmin electronic devices to deter theft. If you forget the PIN or password unlock code to unlock the Garmin unit, the best solution is to bring it to Garmin to get unlocked. “Secure Location” does not unlock a locked Garmin unit either as it’s only a temporary fix as when it’s turn on outside the security location, the device is locked again."

So unfortunately, there is only one option: You have to send your nüvi into the Garmin, who can unlock it. Remember original receipt.

if ther battery went totally flat place it on charge for an hour or so to revive it. Max battery life in storage is 4 days with a good battery.

Charging it even tho the charge light may not show should build up enough charge to eventually show the light and allow you to turn it on. It should remain on charge for 5hrs.

Other possibility is a collapsed cell in battery, replace the battery
