If my pictures were deleted , can I get them back?

It's no problem at all to get them back. Do not take any more pictures, and remove the card from the camera to lessen the chance of you overwriting some important pictures or videos. There are VERY many freeware software options available to help you recover your files. Please see this post that reviews several of the better freeware recovery options that you can download. You'll need to use a card reader with these programs though:

All the download links listed in the article are available through CNET. This was to primarily ensure through CNET's verification process that these would be malware free software, and to also give you a chance to read user reviews on the software before downloading.

How to shoot photos with

Hello,
Dpi has absolutely no effect on your photos. If you want better quality pictures, turn the cameras quality / resolution to the highest possible.
DPI - Dots per inch. Only matters when you are printing a picture, it tells the printer how big or how small the picture will be printed as. this setting can not be changed on your camera, you have to change it on the computer.
Please open and read this page: http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/mythdpi.html
The above page contains all the information that you will ever need about DPI and how to change it on a computer.

if you still have questions after having read the dpi page let me know and I'll respond as soon as possible.

When i try to turn

Hi,

The Red indicator flashing in the Camera may be the Access Lamp or the Power Lamp. The Access Lamp is located below the Control buttons and the Power Lamp near to the power button. If the Access Lamp is flashing, it indicates that the Camera is accessing the Memory. Do not remove the Memory Stick or Batter while the Access Lamp is lit.

If the Power Lamp is flashing, it indicates that the Camera is turned on. If the Lamp is lit in Red it shows that the Battery is not having enough charge. Insert new batteries or charged Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries to resolve the issue.

You may also try power resetting the Camera. To power reset the Camera, remove the batteries from the Camera and then press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds and then reinsert the batteries after 1 minute and check if the Camera works normally. If the issue persists, service may be required.

Thanks

How can i use sony

Sorry, you can't. The S730 is designed to store images and videos to memory, not to stream live video to another device.

I have a memory card

Wasn't quite sure what you question was, lemekaralph. Is there nothing said about why the stick should be reinserted? The best idea, based on what I think you're asking, may be to either use a USB card reader or a laptop or PC that has a card reader to load any photos off to a computer and then right click on the stick in the Computer/My Computer Window and click on format. It will clear the card completely and then allow you to put the card into the camera normally.
Make sure you've copied the photos onto the PC if you want to keep them before formatting and, after the stick is accpeted by the camera, reformat it again IN the camera - do that because Sony suggest formatting for best results should be done in the camera.
Good Luck!

Stuck on date screen and can not move up and down

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

How to download pictures in

You just have to connect your camera to the computer's usb port using the usb cable. Then right click on your windows START button and choose to click Explore. It will open the windows explorer. Look for the drive letter associated with the camera and click on it. It will show you the list or contents on the right. Just look inside one of those folders to find your pictures. Once found, you would have to select the pictures, then press CTRL c to copy. Then go somewhere on your computer and press CTRL v to paste. That's it.

No detect

Please set the "USB Connect" option in the Menu of the Camera to "Mass Storage" option.
Steps to go to USB Connect option:
Press Menu button and select Setup option.
Then select the Setup 2 and then the USB Connect option

Then connect the Camera to the Computer and the Camera will be recognized as a removable device in "My Computer".

The Computer recognizes the Camera as a Removable device just like a Pen Drive. You can access the files in the Camera in the same way you access the files in the Pen Drive.

Then copy the files and paste them to a desired location on the Hard drive of the Computer.

If this does not work, then you may select the "PTP" option and Pictbridge option before connecting the Camera to the Computer to check if they work.

Please use the supplied USB cable to connect the Camera to the Computer.

How do I delete pics in a protected file on my

Hello,
There are two ways to delete the protected files.

1. Formatting the internal memory or "Memory Stick Duo" erases all data stored on the recording media, even if the images are protected, and these images can not be restored.

2. Just select the protected sign (key) to turn it to gray from green. Then press OK button shown in the below figure. The center button is OK. If you press again, it turns to green to protect your file. Press again to unprotect it.

That is all.
