Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on "Open the call setup assistant" and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on " "Action."
Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.

When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

D. AIM (AOL) Messenger:

http://dashboard.aim.com/aim

On the VIM sign-in window click on Edit.
Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
Next click on Enhanced IM.
Then click on Audio Video.

The audio and camera should function now.
Additional information to use with VIM settings.
Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings:
In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently
Participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM

2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working
Properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.

I cant get my web cam to send though msn messneger

Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

http://www.testmycam.com/

If it fails to work here concentrate on your webcam drivers and software before moving forward.

Set your webcam mic (if it has one as default)
Vista -

Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)

CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Open MSN
Click 'Open Menu'
From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup'
Set your speakers
Click 'Test' - if OK, move on.
Set your mic as default
Use the slider to set volume and test.
Click 'Next'
This takes you to the video setup
Your webcam should be broadcasting - (if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN)
Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture.
Click 'Finish'

There is an x where my camera use to show me. I

First go to Control Panel, Hardware, Devices and look for your webcam. Go through the tabs to make sure it is Enabled. If you do not see the webcam in the list, right click on the white space and select Show disabled devices. If you still don't see your webcam then you will need to reload the software drivers, either from disc or the manufacturer's website. Once you think you have it working you may want to reboot your computer, and then try the free webcam test tool.

Microphone not working

How to get your webcam microphone to work: Click on Control Panel, Hardwre and Sound, Sound, Recording. You should see your microphone icon with a Green check mark on it. If there is no Green check mark, it means it is disabled. If there is No green mark on Microphone it never works. To enable the Microphone Right click on Microphone and click on Enable. If you do not see the Microphone in the list, Right click on the White space and select Show disabled devices. Then you would see the Microphone. However, if you do not see the green check mark on it, Right click on it and click on Enable. And also Select Microphone and click on Set Default (If Set as default button is active).

If you see the Green check mark on Microphone the Microphone definitely works.

Step 3: Increasing Microphone Sensitivity and Un-muting the Microphone.

1. Select Microphone and click on Properties button.

2. Adjust the slider until to 100 % of its range.

3. If Mute is on, click the mute button to un-mute the device.

4. If Microphone Boost is available, boost the volume.

5. Click OK to make the changes.

Now the Microphone should work. To verify you can test it on the free webcam test tool site.

My c120m logitech has white lines when i try to

After performing the above tasks, I was still getting the white lines. I'm running Windows XP with SP2. I called Logitech (who by the way was VERY helpful), and the gentleman had me do a few things. The resolve came from this:

Start / Run / type in "dxdiag"
He saw that I was running DirectX 9.0 on the System tab (see DirectX Version)
Click the Display tab
Then under Direct X Features, I disabled DirectDraw Acceleration and Direct3D Acceleration.

That fixed the problem. Not sure what else it affects. But it fixed my white lines.
