Lights are on but nobody's home!
I had the same problem two years ago and because the camera was still within warranty coverage, I was able to return it to Olympus for no charge repair and they fixed the zoom lens gear and it works fine.
How do I delete all
if you have an option on the camera to format the camera crad, that will delete all the pics at once

I have an Olympus SP 320 camera, zoom error comes up and it shuts off
I just pulled my 320 out after not using it for 4 months and the lens extended and zoom error began flashing on the screen. After reading a few other post on the net about how much it cost I decided the camera was a goner. For good measure I banged it on my mouse pad a couple times and the lens suddenly retracted and it is now working fine. Doubt it will work very often but might be worth a try. Make sure you hit it on something soft to prevent other damage.
Dropped digital cameras
Hey xrayman,
When you dropped your camera you most likely damaged the lens mechanism. You should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. You could contact the manufacturer and they should have a list of authorized service technicians in your area, or you could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they could send it out to an authorized service center. I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Allan

What exactly is wrong with the pictures? Are they too dark or too blurry? Are you using the Macro mode (option would have a picture of little flower by it)?
My Olympus VR-340 is not working.
Locate the reset button on your camera, usually found in the battery compartment. Press and hold the reset button for a few seconds, then release it. This action may help resolve any software glitches causing the issue. myreminiapk.com
WHEN I TURN MY OLYMPUS ON IT GOES RIGHT TO "ZOOM ERROR" THEN SHUT OFF. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
When your Olympus camera goes straight to "Zoom Error" and then turns off, it is likely that there is an issue with the camera's lens mechanism. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
- Turn off the camera and remove the battery and memory card. Then, wait for a few minutes before re-inserting them and turning the camera back on.
- Gently move the lens back and forth with your fingers to see if it can be moved and if it is stuck.
- Use a can of compressed air to blow dust and debris out of the lens mechanism.
- Check the lens for any physical damage such as cracks or dents.
- Try using the camera without the zoom function to see if it still turns off.
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to keep in mind that the Olympus camera is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services. If the camera is still under warranty, you may be able to get it repaired or replaced by the manufacturer.
My olympus sz 14 camera shows Zoom error on the screen when I turn it on and then turns off immediately. I bought a new battery a d charged the camera but it continues to shut off.
The "Zoom Error" message that appears on your Olympus SZ-14 camera's screen when you turn it on, followed by the camera turning off immediately, could be caused by a problem with the camera's lens.
Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
- Turn off the camera and remove the battery and memory card. Then, wait for a few minutes before re-inserting them and turning the camera back on.
- Try gently tapping the camera on a flat surface to try and realign the lens.
- Check the lens for any dirt or debris that may be blocking the movement of the lens. Clean the lens with a soft, dry cloth.
- Check the lens for any physical damage like dents or cracks.
- Try using the camera without the zoom function to see if it still turns off.
- Contact Olympus customer support: If you have tried all the above steps and the camera is still not working, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to keep in mind that the Olympus SZ-14 is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services. If the camera is still under warranty, you may be able to get it repaired or replaced by the manufacturer.
