No. You have to program the directv remote to work with your tv. You may have to select the tv button.

You need the original remote for this and Apex parts almost do not exist

HelloMake a factory reset to this set. I assumes that you have its remote control wih you now, and posts this solution. If you did forget the parential pass code, just enter '6688' when the set asks for passcode. The previous set passcode will clear out, you ahve to set a new passocde in place. After resettign the pascode, just make a factory reset to the set, by entering into it menu option.Without remote control, you can't do anything with this set. If you lost its remote control, you can buy it directly from Apex Digital. The price ofr the remote control in US or Canda is $35. If it has been overloaded with too many dvd's, then you won't be able to eject them. You'll have to disassemble and remove the discs manually, if you are not comfortable doing this, call an electronics shop, most large ones (FutureShop, BestBuy) will preform repairs. Cheers!

Audio Settings: MTS cannot be highlighted, it is grayed out. The setting is mono and cannot be changed.

Apex TVs use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for many models is 6688. Other sets may not have one, or may have a default code of 1225 instead of an override code.

1. To use the override code:
2. Hit the MENU key to get to the menus.
3. Go down to the SYSTEM menu and hit the right arrow on the remote control.
4. Once in the SYSTEM menu, go to PARENTAL GUIDE. It will ask for your code.
5. Enter the override code listed above. From here, you can turn on and off different rating restrictions, as well as set a new code.

No matter what the V-chip code is set to, the override code will still work. If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired

Try GT2011's master password 1225.

Someone has invoked the child lock. Check your manual to see how to unlock this . Sometimes this info is on a sticker applied inside the manual or instructions for use.

I dont know how to turn that asking but the key it is asking for is 512!

This site provided the original user guide and I was able to find the factory codes in there and that allowed me to remove the parental control codes, plus now I can put in my own. Thank you!

If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time.
If your TV asks for a 4-digit code or password please enter 3308 or 6688 to unlock the screen or reset any preset rating levels.
If you have a GT2011J or GT2011S Television, hold the (Display) button for 10 seconds, it will unlock the screen. If password or code is requested, try 3308 or 6688.

factory setting is 3308. worked for me.

Go into the TV's setup screen and make sure its tuning mode is set for "cable" (may say "CATV"). I'm not familiar with this set so I don't know exactly what the screen will say, but there should be some reference to channel setup, TV setup, tuning band, etc. It's probably set on "AIR" now.

Normally, when set for off-air reception, the set works properly for channels 2 through 13, and 14 up don't tune properly. Since you're getting channels up to 19, there may in fact be some kind of tuner problem. If the TV is already set for cable tuning, you may have found why the former owner was freecycling it. But check that tuning mode.

if your are able to open and close the dvd and able to hear the tv clike it means you secondery power supply is working you have the +5 volt and some other votege
i will look in the hv section and see if you have +120 v
you may have hv short

try rca remot control code search it may work
