If The PF shows and emits a beep then the temperature sensor is malfunctioning. If the problem continues then call customer service at 1-800-332-3848. When you unplug unit the code should clear if not then there is a problem with unit. DO NOT try to keep running unit this could cause a fire.

With a new plug and a new outlet it leads me to believe the machine is getting older, dirtier, and drawing more amps than the wires can handle. If disassembling and thoroughly cleaning is doable or in your mind, worth it, that's what I recommend. Otherwise it's in your best interest, being a fire hazard, to replace it. generally that icon is for a setting that maintains a relative humidity in the room as against the temp setting it is a comfort setting so that you will not feel cold at a setting understanding that air conditioners are conditioners of the air and they do that by removing the humidity ( moisture present in the air) to allow you to perspire more freely and so feel cooler with near no humidity in the room a temp setting of 25 c will feel too cold so the smiley icon is a setting where the humidity is kept at a level where the 25c feels "just right" all is explained in the user manual that you can download from the manufacturers web site if you do not have one

15 to 20 degrees air temperature difference is what an a.c. will do. 75 degrees return air should be 60 degrees in the supply.
