Check your brake light is coming on when your holding the brake. If you usually use rear brake then try with front brake. Brake light must come on to complete the circuit.
A fuse can blow but physically look intact. How did you verify the fuses were ok? It could be that the 40A fuse 8 in the engine compartment fuse box has blown.
This supplies multiple circuits which are themselves individually fused in the consumer box inside the car.
The smaller 15A fuse 15 in the consumer box would normally blow under these circumstances but f the horn does not work as well and there are other things you have not listed that do not work like brake lights or headlights, it is definitely the under bonnet fusebox where the problem lies.
Good luck.
All the thing's your having problems with are computer controlled .The main light switch is a low voltage device , controlled by the instrument cluster . The instrument cluster is connected to the vehicle control moduel system via the SCP - standard corporate protocol , messages are put out on the data network to other modules to control lighting ! The (REM) rear electronic module an the (FEM) front electronic module . 010 Ford SCP Communications
You could look for a loose connection (ground ) But your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop (ford )
If the red brake light and the ABS light are both lit up on the dashboard, do NOT drive the vehicle. It indicates a major malfuntion with the brake system. The red light indicates low brake fluid or the parking brake engaged. The yellow ABS without the red light, indicates a problem the computer found and it disables the ABS system while still having conventional brakes. Since both are lit, it needs the brake system repaired. What you replaced on the rear diff was probably the rear ABS sensor. The vehicle speed sensor for the speedometer should be located on the rear of your transfer case if you have 4WD, or on the rear of the trans if you have 2WD.
Hello there, I have a problem with my Piaggio X9 500, 2002 model dashboard. When I turn the key on, the injection, alarm, rear brake, gas reserve, low and high beam bulbs do not check initially , thought they work fine after when I press each button. Could you please give me any suggestion? (the dashboard clocks are NEW!)
One common problem is with intrument cluster solder joints where the cable connector attaches to the circuit board. Solder joints fracture. Resolder. Use Hanes manual to get dashboard apart.
Indication is instrument panel goes dead and car sometimes will not start.
Other possibilites are loose connectors or poor connections in cable harnesses.
