Hi I have a sym red devil and have trouble starting it in the morning.when you spray carb cleaner in to the air filter it will start but next day it wont start again. does a sym red devil have a choke could this be the problem

Ok, NEVER use starting fluid. It runs too hot and can melt or at least distort aluminum very quickly. Besides, engines are designe to run on gas or diesel, not starting fluid. Try spraying some CARBURETOR CLEANER into the carb after removing the air filter. Chances are, there's something clogging the carb and it it tries to run on the cleaner but dies quickly once it's all burned up, you should just buy a new carb as the galleys and jets are probably all clogged or even corroded so a kit won't help you any. Besides, 9 out of 10 times an engine won't start or runs on choke, it's carburetor related and it's just cheaper and better to replace the whole carb rather than be cheap and try to monkey with cleaning or rebuilding it.

it may be-inspec the lines and tank--carb may need cleanin also chec air filter--make sure batt is at 12v-any less gives weak spark and power

It's in need of gas or air. Start by removing air filter, if that don't help try choking it while riding it thus giving it more fuel. If that don't work repost the problem withas much info as you can. Could be anything from a bad plug to a jumped timing chain.

Hi there. I can help you. The problem is that your carbeurator is gummed up. You may have to remove the carb. and soak it in carb. cleaner for a few hours to get rid of the gum. However, I have often had luck with a fuel additive called seafoam and a carb. cleaner spray plus some starting fluid. Put the seafoam in your fuel using one ounce per gallon, then remove your air filter and squirt carb. cleaner in the air intake, two five second blasts. Try to start the mower. If it starts, great, if not let it sit for an hour while the carb. cleaner dissolves some of the gum. Try again ain an hour using more carb. cleaner and some starting fluid, a couple of blasts of each.

If you have spark, try changing the fuel filter. If you don't have spark, get back to me.

Dump the fuel in the tank, get new gas and new oil and start over. Get a carbeurator cleaner additive for the gas as your carb. is dirty resulting in the sporatic operation.

A spray carb. cleaner that you squirt into the air intake by removing the air filter will also work for you. In fact, when you are getting the carb. cleaner get a new air cleaner and a new spark plug. get back and let me know how u make out.

Remove spark plug, clean and dry. Replace plug. Remove air filter. Spray WD-40 into carb opening; one second blast. Turn over engine, (pull handle). Engine should start briefly and run for 3 seconds.  If not, you are not getting spark to spark plug. If engine starts, you have a dirty carb and you can buy a rebuild kit from manufacture.

so if its firing with starting fluid but not gas then your gas is not getting thru at the right rate. if you are in the USA get some Berrymans carb cleaner spray and a can of fuel additive. remove air cleaner and spray a ton or cleaner in. leave it soaking over night. try starting. add some of the mix in additive in the gas, if it will start run it till hot then let stand overnight. next day hopfully will be fine

Remove air cleaner Spray carb with carburetor cleaner inside and out let dry try to start..

Probable cause dirty carb or air cleaner choke not set properly or needs adjustment
and cleaned>>Charg battery ans check fluid level fill only with distilled water

remove the air filter housing from the throttle body, or if its mult-ported injection, remove the large air duct. Do this the night before. The next day, before cranking and having a spray can of carb. cleaner, spray a couple of shots of carb cleaner either into the large air duct, spray towards the engine, or if its single body injection, spray directly on to the throttle body.

Crank engine immediately, preferrably have some one else sitting in the car to start it after you spray.

If the car even tries to start, replace cold start relay.
