What should i look for when my speedometer works and my tack doesnt on a 99 dyna lower rider?

Speedometer and tachometer are completely separate on that bike. The tachometer is driven by a sensor in the crankcase, and the speedometer is driven by the rotation of the front wheel.

The tachometer electric wire may have become damaged (common problem), and a replacement wire may be bought from Harley. Also, verify that the gauge itself is operating properly by attaching a 9v battery across its wires very briefly, to see if it deflects. If the wire is good and the gauge is good, the rotation sensor in the crankcase must be replaced.

My gilera Vxr 200 speedometer doesnt work, it stays put at 0km/h.And recently washed my carb on my own witha hurricane airfilter, but when i fix it back, i can only throttle up to 6rpm and no more.no...

Is your speedometer cable driven or electronic? If its cable driven, its off the front wheel and either the cable is broken or the gears in the wheel are broken. Electronic...its dealership time.

Remove the air filter, cut the gas off, drain the carb float bowl.

That should fix it!!

Speedometer on motorcycle quit working

Have you had the front wheel off recently?

There is a magnetic speedometer sensor at the front wheel that is easily and often broken if not aligned property. Replacing that magnetic sensor should cure it.

Also, there is a wiring harness under the speedometer. Remove the 3 bolts holding on the speedometer, and carefully lift it up and check to make sure the harness is plugged together tightly.

Spedomoeter jumps up and down works fine sometimes especially in the morning all other gauges work

The speedometer Gear drive may be going bad. Or it could be if your speedometer is cable driven the cable just needs lubed. On the side of your transmission near the rear you will see a small gear box with wires or a cable. Place a pan under it and remove it from trans. Check gear to see if it is chewed or worn. If not and you have a cable driven speedometer use graphite cable lube on cable. If this don't work it could be in the cruise control or speedometer.
