You may not have brake lights. i had this happen twice in my canyon its a switch that goes bad and its a recall so it should be free at the dealer installed and everything.
there is recall because of this problem. the same thing ws going on with mine. contact your gmc dealership. it is a valve problem in the head.the recalll is not published but if take it to the dealer he can check to see if this the problem. this was a cyl. head problem.
roaring in the front drivers side wheel-well. hought it was a bearing, but replacing it did not solve the problem.
