SOURCE: fault codes on a volvo FH12 rear left lights stay on
Volvo has had a lot of trouble with relays in the rear control module. Check/replace the relays for the rear lights with the updated relays.
SOURCE: I have volvo trucks fh12
the one i use is in china and iam not saying anymore ,www.ecutool.com as not allowed to publicise on this site but i have downloaded a few programmes but in the end i do my diagnostics with a automotive multimeter and check for volts /frequency/dwell ect as most modern europeon vehicles use encrypted software so it renders most diagnostic equipment useless but with training on how to use the automotive meter i can sucessfully diagnose 99% of faults
ECU is like your mother board and inside there is a PROM which is coded for your cars engine type and size etc. This prom keeps the systems as they should be like during warm up highway driving etc. Takes info from all the systems and makes fuel mixture, timing, and other adjustments to keep the car running correctly.Your prom needs replacing I think. This has to be done very carefully, Maybe best to take it to a shop.
Hope this helps Mike
