Broken door handle , drivers side 2003 nissan altima

in korea door handles do not break.....these new handles are made too cheaply the little finger in back is not heavy enough to properly work as much as it was made to do..need to remove the door panel and check the outer handle assembly and connecting rods and replace any broken plastic keepers

You have 2 plastic clips in the door, one at the handle, and one at the lock. If one breaks, no door. Easy to fix. You can sometimes get the clip at the auto parts store. Just remove the door panel, and replace the clip, and reattach the bar. 30 minutes tops.

how to replace a door handle on a 2003 nissan altima

First take the door panel off by unscrewing the door panel screws. Next undo the door handle screws followed by disconnecting the window power unit. After everything is removed, peal back the protective plastic if there is some to get access to the bolts for undoing the window and to losen the window tracking sides. After the old window is unmounted take the gasket casing for the window and only have the top part pushed in while the sides are lose and away so the window can be slide in and the bolts then reinserted to support the window. Last take the bottom parts of the gasket casing and feed each side down either side of the window until it is taught and secured in place. After that plug in the window power to make sure it works correctly and then reassemble the door handle casing and door panel. You now have a brand new back passenger window for a 2002 Nissan Altima.

I havve 2002 Nissan Altima, I am unsure as to why you can not get this repaired, I can probably find this at the dealer , I tried to find a door window controller but it was not a Altima at the junk yard, I have taken off several door handles and this should be a common repair

U MAY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE THAN TO TRY THE DEALER!

I have a 2003 nissan altima and the door has woked fine all night and now the door will not open from the inside. It is just a broken spring?

There is a cable that attaches to the inside door latch release handle. The plastic that retains this cable is most likely broken. I have seen this before. If the retainer is not holding the cable sheath correctly, the entire cable moves when the handle is pulled and does not release the door latch.

Remove the door panel and inspect this cable. You will see 2 cables (one is for the door lock). If the plastic is broken, you will need a new interior handle assembly.

the lock mechanism itself of the driver side door is the problem.

you may try lubricating the lock mechanism and you might un-tangle what is binding in there.

something could have stuck in the locking mechanism.
