Where is the trunk release on a Dodge Caliber? My wife has rented the car and can't find it in the dark.
The manual trunk pop is under the lip right above the license plate, just pinch there
I had the same issue 10/06/12. im no tech but i have the tools to fix small gadgets. the problem is in the latch motor unit. if you can manage to take the inner plastic cover off from your trunk, the rest gets tricky. you need to unmount the motor unit to evaluate the issue. the motor mount unit has three hex screws and a power clip you'll also have to remove. if you need further assistance, ill to help. shoot me a text 9096331540. thanks louie california
double click the unlock on the keychain, and manually open the hatch. or once again the latch motor unit has issues.
The gears were broke, i had to flip one of the gears over and use the side with the teeth to grab correctly, along with modifying it. Trust me, I'm not a fool. I found that the problem is in the cheap plastic inner parts that brake. The electric gear motor spins too hard, inner parts should be solid aluminum and not hard plastic. The only way of finding the problem is by trying to fix it yourself. I didn't have the $180 to dish out on this unit...

Thanks, no key lock. Found out that all of the door locks and the trunk all occur at the same time. It was unlocked all she had to do was to open the tailgate. Found the car manual on line.
Thanks again for the replies.
