SOURCE: 1985 chevy blazer smoked and died

To start off you can probably get a manual at Autozone. To get a good idea of what's really going on in the engine you might want to check compression, wet and dry, check fuel output psi and do the basics, IE plugs, rotor and cap, plug wires, etc. At least if you do the checks you'll have an idea of the engines condition, if it's worth putting alot of money into. Please rate this and good luck.

SOURCE: I have a 94 Chevy

There is something inside where it locks it into place that needs to be looked at and if you try to get into to see the problem to make sure you slowly take it apart but make also sure you know where everything goes back just remember the steps how you did it forward and then backwards.

Hi Mike, Could be something to do with the battery and a loose connection, or a blocked fuel filter or defective pump, which is the most likely. Have a diagnostic scan carried out. Regards John.

Hello: I would check the fuel pressure when this occurs, this year model should have throttle body furl injection. 10 psi should be the nominal fuel pressure. Check the fuel filter. When it quits does it just shut off or does it sputter a little bit then quit, if it just quits it could be ignition, hei coil, module, pick up, check cap and rotor, rotor for a burn spot close to the distributor shaft

97 Suburban - engine heats up but no hot air

There could be a few different reasons for no heat, in a chevy. There's no water in the heatercore. Check the level of the radiator when it's cooled off. If thats not it, my '94 had a small hole in one of the intake tubes, for some reason it kept the heat from blowing hot. I suppose any loss of pressure may affect it the same way.

Quits running after it starts to warm up under 1 mile

Try your ignition coil. That year model chevy has a dry running coil and it does not go out all at once. It will spark and run while cool but just as soon as the everything starts to heat up the resistance in the coil begins to build and it quits firing. After letting the vehicle set a little while and cool off it will fire off and run just fine untill it starts to heat up again.

Car dies while driving and will not start up

Does it start after cooling down? If so then you have a bad ignition module located in the bottom of the distributor.
