2003 GMC Envoy Logo

My 2003 GMC Envoy 6 Cyl. was making a clacking sound when driving over pot holes and rough roadways. I had the stabilizer links changed and replaced the struts and shocks (KYB struts and shocks were installed). I have the truck back and the noise sounds worse! Initially I was hearing it on the right rear passenger side. Now I hear it on both sides. Plus I hear it slightly coming from the front wheels. The mechanic is going to check the car again but he made the symptoms worse not better. Can you help decifer what the problem is and how to correct it? I'm freaking out now. I spent a lot of money for the repair and the problem is worse. Please help. P.S. When the mechanic brought the car back he pointed out that the trailer arm was bent. Is this part of the problem or a different problem?

Sorry for all the questions but I am not finding information about a training arm.

    What is a training arm?
Is it part of the rear suspension or the wheel?
Could a bent training arm cause this problem?
Is the part known by any other name (I can't find it anywhere...where would I buy it?)
    Is it easy to replace?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

well it might have a different name but yes it is part of the rear suspention and you can go to the dealer and they should be able to show you a pic if you know what it looks like you can pick it out and order it and it shouldnt be to hard to change but it possibly might need 4 wheel alighnment after replacement

Maybe time for a throttle body cleaning, make sure both the front side and back side are cleaned thoroughly. Also disconnect the battery while doing the cleaning, this will reset the computer and allow it to relearn to the cleaned throttle body.
Do you mean a whining sound? Does the sound change if you turn the wheel to the right or left? If so, it may be a front wheel bearing.

Rear struts

is it the old body style or the new body. If it's the old no problem. The newer body a little bit tricky but if you take your time there not that bad to do

Noise driving over rough road worse after new links, struts, shocks

Do not heat or bend any suspension parts. Big no-no. If it's all touching and out of whack, check for possible bent frame. Body-shop that did the past work might have overlooked the frame being bent. All measurements start with a straight frame. Then go after the individual hitch and sway bar.
