My Opel Corsa 1400 has done 201,300 km on the clock. Not realy using oil. Every now and then pushes a bunch of smoke through the exaust system when starting the engine.

Immediately smoke is gone when engine is running. Where does this smoke injections come from ? Normally starts doing this after about 5,000 km after a oil change. How to retify ?

On higher mileage engines the internal parts are very worn such as piston rings. This can allow small amounts of oil into the ignition chamber. This burns off as you run the engine.
If the amounts of smoke is small and not very often it is nothing too serious to worry about. If there is a lot of it and it regularly happens, the only way to fix the problem is to completely dismantle the engine and rebuild it with all new seals and gaskets, a full engine rebuild.

problem one is the timer control for the heaters ,also check the heaters that they are working ,oil problem ? look under the rubber boot that goes over the oil switch ,pull it back and if oil under the cover renew the oil switch, these motors do suffer from heater light flashing on and i know people have spent megabucks trying to cure it ,its a fault with dash and printed circuits ,but the heaters are not coming on i know because i have driven one with the heater circuit light coming on and i had a extended light on a long wire and the heaters are not coming on ,ignore it just renew the faulty glow plugs,as for EGR valve just pull teh vacumn pipe off the ERG valve and leave disconnect ,more hassle than its worth changing it ,you could end up with a ECU computer .Still a nice reliable motor though and economical

Testimonial: "Thanks for your usefull answer. Afer I stop the engine 2 times from EGR valve, both board alarms have been reseted. What does it mean? Thanks again."

SOURCE: wite smok from exaust system

Smoke can be from rings worn out, cracked piston, valve guide seals if smokes at start up then stops, fueling issues if fuel is to rich but that smoke is usually black, also if head gasket is blown or head is cracked water burning turns into steam which looks like white smoke. This can also be why won't start just turns over.

SOURCE: 2001 exaust smokes at times engine runs good no

Exhaust smoke is not a good thing, it can slowly destroy the catalytic converter. The color of the smoke is important to know, gray smoke is usually oil burning and white smoke is coolant.

What is the fuel consumption on 2007 opel corsa 1400i lite hatchback

Hi Adel,

About 9.5 to 10 Km/L... (
realistically)

Here in the USA we don't speak much metric
but I know our EPA ratings (miles per gallon) are
almost always pure fantasy...

Opels (admire though I may (QUIT in 1975))
have not been deliberately imported here for 41 years...

What that in metric?

Check an Opel web-site (with a lot of whining going on)
9.5 to 10 Km/L... That would be PARTY TIME here.

As a standard, any front wheel drive car uses ATF lubricant or better known as Automatic Transmission Fluid to lubricate it's gearbox, you can recognise it by its colour witch is deep red, an opel/vauxhall corsa/astra 1.7d/1.7di/1.7dti/1.7cdti uses ATF II, not a easy trans to fill, suggest you let a dealer do this service
