SOURCE: hand brake nissan pathfinder

If you lift the hand brake you should find an adjustment nut (I think it is 10MM). Tighten that and you should be good to go. Be careful, it doesn't take much to adjust - turn gradually/slowly.

i hope i was able to help you with your problem! tc!

SOURCE: 1999 nissan quest brake pad replacement

Remove wheel & tire,
remove 2 torx bolts that go from the inside to the outside of the vehicle. They are on the inner side of the brake caliper.
lift the caliper out of the rotor.
remove the brake pads.
To install, you must first squeeze the caliper piston back inot its bore. Do this slowly to prevent damage to the piston. You are forcing excess brake fluid back into the master cylinder reservoir. Slow constant pressure will get the job done. Use a large c clamp or a wooden hammer handel if that's all you have.
Fit the new brake pads in the calipers and slide the assembly back over the rotor.
install the 2 torx bolts, size 40? head I think.
You are done.
If rotors are scored bad, replace them too.

It would be to hard to tell and show you over the computer.
The best and easiest way for you is to buy a Chilton manual for your car at the autoparts store. The book runs about $20
This book is a do-it-yourself bible. It will show you everything you need to know on how to do maintenance and repair on your vehicle.

I change my calipers and break pads on both front wheels of my 97 nissan pathfinder bleed all 4 wheels after a few second I stroke peddle and it went all the way down to the firewall . Need help

Could be your brake master cylinder not building hydraulic pressure. If the internal seals are bad, the fluid leaks back internally, preventing pressure to build up in the lines to the wheels. If you have no leaks and you bled all wheels properly, it is probably the master cylinder.

My brake light in dash has been on for 3 days 1986 nissan pathfinder, my hand brake is not engaged, anyone know how to fix or what to check?

hi this brake light also comes on if the brake fluid level is low try topping up? if fluid is very low ? then it could be due to a leak on brake system ie wheel cylinder of a pipe? or it could be fluid has displaced to cyls /calipers due to wear of brake pads and or brake shoes ?? SO if you have not checked fluid recently ?honestly ?? may i suggest if light goes off after top up of fluid ? check your b/pads they may req replacing asap before they damage discs ?hope this helps

Funny noise/squeal from LH wheel area on turning RH bends

Check your brakes for excessive wear or uneven wear. There are metal objects attached to the brake pads, that when worn they touch the rotors creating a metal squealing sound. This serves as a warning to prevent additional damage to your braking system, replace if pads are worn. If this isn't the case, if 4WD have your shafts, hubs bearings checked, if 2WD have your wheel bearings checked. Hopefully this helps

The hard part is pressing the caliper piston abck into the caliper so you can get the new, thicker pads over the rotor. A large C Clamp works best.
