SOURCE: Central Locking system blows 20 A fuse.

In response to your request I'd like to say that I have not solved the problem yet but intend to investigate the central locking relay in the engine compartment.

Also wish to say that I was led to believe that Fixya was a group of enthusiasts willing to share their knowledge. I did not understatnd that it was a for fee service.

Thanks for the reply.

SOURCE: VW Polo 2000 1.4 16V Blowing fuse for Central locking / windows

car electrics are a nightmare. the car lights up when a door is open i presume. and by bypassing the central locking. the electric computer says there is a fault. and will not start. that i think is programed in. best thing to do is. go to phone VW dealer ask about diagnostic test without repair. about £35 then fix it yourself. they garentee it right I think. the dealers have come into line better with that kind of thing phone and ask anyway.

2001 Volkswagen Jetta. The fuse that powers the central locking system the power windows and the sun roof keeps blowing every time I put it in what should I do?

You need a mobile auto electrician to diagnose and find where in those items the dead short is. They will disconnect items one at a time until they find the one that is causing it.

Car doors will not unlock with remote or from inside using central locking switch on doors have checked battery

Sounds like you have a blown fuse for your power door locks. Open your car's owner's manual, and locate the fuse in the fusebox, and check to see if it's blown. If it is, and you replace it, and it blows again.
You have a short in one of your door motors.

15 amp fuse blows as soon as it's fitted!

Pinched, worn, or otherwise damaged wire somewhere. You will need to investigate further to find the problem.
Get a continuity tester and check for continuity to ground with each wire.
I would suspect a door wire before the dome light wire.
Good Luck

Central locking problem:- doors locking itself whilst driving and in stationary postion Leak somewhere from coolant system topping up every week no obvious sign of water on pipes or radiator any...

I don't know about the doors locking when the car is stationary, but many cars with central locking systems automatically lock when the car reaches a certain speed: normally somewhere between 10 and 15 mph.

Central locking fuse for ford focus

The fuse panel is located to the lower left of the steering wheel. Remove the 2 hex screws holding it in place and turn it around. The fuse (63) is somewhat hidden behind a wiring harness. Replace the fuse and try the locks. If they work your are good, if it blows again you have to find the location of the shortage, thats where I'm stuck :(
