Transmission slipping

This is common on your car. You have a HydroMatic 4T65E trans. You will need the Pressure Control Soleniod Valve Assembly change in your trans. It is tetious work so you may need to take it to the shop for repairs.

Location diagram transmission shift soleniod & photo of soleniod. The car stays in first gear to long before it changes.Could this be the problem.

We do not have diagrams of this setup, but the shift solenoids are all one piece or rack of solenoids you could say, they are located inside the transmission attached to the valve body of the transmission, to access them you must remove the pan on the bottom of the automatic transmission.

1998 gmc safari 4.3l automatic transmission code po753 shift solenoid a.what are the symtoms if soleniod is actually defective and is the soleniod attached to the valve body.

Yes the Solenoid is attached to the valve body and if you got a defective one that means you will be having problems and delays with shifting and you might lose one of the gears like 4th or 3rd .

My 97 lincoln Continental go's forward just fine. I can feel the transmission shift into reverse but will not move. If I give it the gas the engine speed stops at about 1500 rpm

The TCM or transmission control module may be bad or a stuck trans. shift soleniod. It may be worth it just to take it to a certified transmission shop to have them run a diagnostic check to retrieve the TCM's trouble codes then go from there.

I have a 2002 Regal. I'm having shifting problems with the automatic transmission. It doesn't want to shift. It does not seem to be slipping as much as not knowing when to shift. I changed the oil filter...

I have a similar problem with my 2002 Regal, mine wont shift out of park. I hear a switch clicking under the steering column cover when I depress the shifter button when I try to take it out of park. Have you found a solution yet? Larry

My van as I was driving just stopped shifting into gear. It never made any noise, nothing just all of a sudden stopped shifting.

The trasnmission soleniod assembly or the transmission control module is out.

You need to go to the local transmission shop
I would have the system scan for code and check out.

Good Luck
