It sounds like your machine needs either the shifter calibrated or replaced. It doesn't seem like any non electric portions of the shifter are broken or you wouldn't be able switch between gears. You might want to have a technician use a multimeter to find out if any shifter-related wires have stopped working. You can also reference the troubleshooting section of your manual for another perspective.
You could have a problem with the drive belt (between the motor and the sewing mechanism). To confirm this, does the machine stitch when you turn the hand wheel.
Unfortunately, I can't find the model number of 15751090. Kenmore model numbers have a three digit prefix which indicates the manufacturer. I didn't find a 385.15751090 either. You can try checking with a sewing machine repair shop to see if they have the belt. (I found the parts diagram for one Kenmore serger model and the equivalent belt was no longer available.)
Please add a comment with the prefix. I wish I had better news for you.
I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com
Is it a over locker or sewing machine. If it is a sewing machine remove the bobbin and look for thread stuck in the moving parts or part of a broken needle stuck in the bobbin area. When last was the machine serviced. Check its manual and oil the oiling points indicated in the manual.
Probably. There may be a solenoid not working which is keeping the transmission from engaging the forward gear train but for it not to work at all is unusual.
The only real way to do this right is to remove the headliner. That is the ceiling piece. Once it is sagging it needs to be replaced or restretched. The way you do this is to remove all of the trim around the top, the roof console you have showing, the visors, dome lights, vents and anything else that is holding this on. What I did is remove it myself and have a professional replace the fabric and then I put it back in myself. Worked out great and over all saved me about $700.00. He charged me 170 to put on the new fabric which included the cost. If you move forward with doing this yourself I can give you a couple of tips.
