2000 mitsubishi galant 4 cyl, 4 door. Rear right door had seat belt slammed in the door. Closed it properly and now when trying to open door from inside latch it won't pull the lever to unlock and open it. manual locking mechanism won't engage or disengage. Won't open from out side handle. Suggestions? Perhaps a good link to a diy fix?

Pull the door panel off and inspect the door latch. Sounds like you jammed or bent part of it out of place. If the handles are very loose, check and see it the door latch arm popped out of place

SOURCE: Driver side door lock seems mechanically "stuck"

there are several screws you have to remove remove the trim piece around the inside handle the panel lifts off dont pry it off or it will break the door latch usually binds and has to be replaced

SOURCE: Driver's door won't open inside

Hey, You need to remove the panel otherwise u can't reattach the metal sticks that move the locks, but i think it's hard to remove it in a closed posision when u don't brake it

2000 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cyl ES underhood squeal on right side

The probable causes are: 1. The drive belts are slipping. 2. The drive pulleys for some engine accessories are misaligned. 3. You have turned the steering wheel to the limits. 4. The drive belts are loose.5. Your brake drum backing plates are rubbing against the brake drum. The brakes also might be a problem. check the brake drums/discs. Finally check your wheel and wheel alignment.

2000 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cyl ES underhood squeal on right side

Be gentle with my rating. I am a long ways away. It sounds like a fan belt. You should pop the hood next time and see how it sounds when you have the squeeling going on. Fan belts will squeel until the get warmed up and then stop because the heat makes them grab the way they are ment too. Let me know, Raz
