Audi Q5 2009 wiper/wash not working

The switch contacts get fouled up and require cleaning, otherwise it's a very expensive job to replace the wiper stalk switch assembly. Found this on an Audi forum (there's a html link in one post to an S5 switch overhaul but I'm not sure if it's the same procedure as a Q5) -

04 Plate Audi A3 2.0 FSI Electrical fault

Check both ends of battery's earth lead.
Remove, clean all surfaces with emery/sand paper, replace and seal with grease or vasaline.
If this is not the fault - it worth doing and eliminates something.
Hope this helps.

Bonnett light on and screen wash for front not working - happened at the same time....what is wrong

Open the bonnet and check the wiring and connctor plug that go to the bonnet lock on the front of the car.If everything checks out ok,try replacing the bonnet lock. The lock has a micro switch built into it and when the bonnet is open the wipers and washer will not work,so even though your bonnet is closed, the switch is probably faulty and thats why you bonnet light is on.cheers and good luck

Hi, the bonnet open light keeps going on and off whilst driving, when it is on the windscreen washers do not work and when the engine is off the alarm keeps going off

Hi,

I just wondered if you have had this repaired yet and what was causing it as my Audi A3 2005 model has exactly the same problem!!

In response to bs77bird - the two things are definatley related. When i am stationary and the bonnet light is on neither my front wipers or my windscreen wash work. when im moving, my wipers do work, but my windscreen wash still doesnt. When the light turns itself off occasionally, both the wipers and windscreen wash work when im stationary and moving.

Any help would be great as i dont want to get ripped off for something i could potentially fix myself!

02 audi a4 quattro wipers won't park

If you can move the wiper arms by hand then the 13mm bolt on the motor has worked loose, remove the plastic windscreen trim under the bonnet , close the bonnet , then operate the wiper motor for 1 cycle , switch off , open the bonnet , loosen the 13 mm nut on the wiper motor , push wipers down to the park position , tighten 13mm nut up , close bonnet then check wiper operation , they should now park in the correct position .
